Triple post, please do not.

Unfortunately, I don't know what the problem is.

On the bright side, this is a free bump for your thread.

Are you seeing the damage drop just at the enchant table, or did you finish the enchantment?

The enchant table's "preview" doesn't take into account modifications. But the actual result does. If your result is lower than you remember, I'd wager that you had a buff on you that boosted it and it's simply gone now. Or that your memory is possibly faulty.

This is puzzling.

I had a Daedric Warhammer that was not enchanted however was improved to Legendary. I enchanted with Fiery Soul Trap and now the damage drops by at least 20. Can't recall the exact start but it was over 70 i believe.

Any good reason for this? I just wanted to ADD and enchantment.

I thank all you fine people in advance.

Edit: Used Grand Soul Gem w/Grand Soul.

I know what you're talking about. It says that it drops damage, but actually when you enchant it, it keeps its upgrade.
e.g. I have a Daedric War Axe (Legendary), 75 Damage. I put a fire enchantment on it. I read that the damage drops to 40. I enchanted it and it said "Daedric War Axe (Legendary) added".

You win. In the same transaction I'd DE'd a ring to put the enchant on another that I preffered. That rings damage increase was what was missing. I never would have thought that the DMG increase would be reflected on the weapon itself.

I thank you for guiding my brain in the appropriate direction. :)
