What To Do About Glitched Dragons?

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 8:16 am

So I've come across my first glitched dragon; the dragon flies backwards, flips, flaps, and barrel rolls erratically, and flees from combat just far enough to where I can't hit it, however the combat phase never properly ends. So my question is: is there any set advice from Bethesda on how to go about dealing with this problem? i.e. do I leave it alone and avoid it until another patch comes out?

Some of my worries here are, one -- now that I've aggro'd the dragon, if I leave the vicinity without killing it, and leave it to it's glitchy behavior, I fear it'll somehow find it's ways into other areas and kill NPCs, or if I DO kill it in this glitched state, will that somehow pollute the code of my game and cause anomalies that will consequently at some point down the road cause my saves to corrupt?

I've seen one and with my sneak attack of 555 and poisoned arrows, I killed it fast before it got crazy. (it was also stuck on a rock)

I had to load from a previous save, then I just avoided that area. I seen the dragon flying in the distance but didnt get close enough to engage it. It seemed to help, I havent had the problem since.
