Yes, it would be.

The way modders did it in Oblivion was always a bit...dodgy. It needs to be heavily scripted so that you drop a "dummy" item, and activate it where you want to bedroll to be. Then it has to calculate the angles and position which is all pretty heavy stuff. In addition, scripts can't detect the slope of the landscape, so if you dropped it and tried to put it on uneven terrain, it would stick through the floor, and trying to use it would force you to clip through the ground. And there's a LOT of uneven
terrain in Skyrim.

It's just too glitchy and complex to include in the base game.

Holy hell, how often do you run into a spot where you're OMG I MUST SLEEP RIGHT NOW IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE YET I CANNOT.

No, it wouldn't, but I think it might be a way to avoid a 'gold sink' and gameplay element (rested, well rested bonus) that they want you to work with

Fallout New Vegas did it. The engines are NOT that different, despite what they would have you believe. It shouldn't have been hard to include in the game.

That was really shoddy though. Literally an item in your inventory that activates the sleep menu.

No different from waiting.

On the issue of Modding it in (or, perhaps even Beth adding it).
Silly Question, perhaps, but why not just add Havok to a Bed-roll mesh, and make it an Item? When activated, give the option of 'Sleep' or 'Pickup' like I did with the Coffins in my Vampirism, and use a remote bed to sleep. This way, there is no issue about placing it specifically, as Havok will make it fall 'correctly'.

It's better than nothing. It's not like you get to watch your character sleep, anyway. And I'm sure you know this already, but there is a mechanical difference between sleeping and waiting.
