LIFE IN MEGATON

Life in Megaton is hard at times, but it sure beats living out in the wasteland. Megaton has been doing tremendously well ever since a Lone Wanderer came into town a few decades back and disarmed the bomb, it’s even grown to claim Springvale. If you are looking for something to do there is all sorts of things that need to be done around the town, you can help out some of the shopkeepers, do some bounty work for Harden, do some work for the caravanners, go box at the Fight Club or head to Moriarty’s and see what is up on the bulletin board. But, if you don't feel like doing anything you could always head to Moriarty's, order a beer and enjoy life.

Faction Profiles
Spoiler

The Brotherhood of Steel

In 2279 the Brotherhood of Steel finally ended its war with the Enclave and ended the faction once and for all. Immediately after the Brotherhood exterminated the Enclave they turned their attention to the Super Mutants, thanks to the Lone Wanderer they knew where the Super Mutants were coming from, Vault 87. They launched an attack on the Vault only to find that it was virtually empty, most of the Super Mutants had abounded the place after Fawkes and the Lone Wanderer killed the majority of the population. In the months that followed the Super Mutants migrated North and abandoned the Capital Wasteland, the few that remained were quickly put down by the Brotherhood.

In 2281 the Brotherhood of Steel declared war on the ruthless mercenary group Talon Company, the war lasted nine long years, the Brotherhood of Steel lost countless soldiers in the war and were forced to start recruiting new members. Near the end of the year Elder Lyons passed away and Sarah Lyons became the new Elder, the Brotherhood of Steel prospered under Sarah’s leadership but this period of prosperity ended in 2295 when the Blood Pack appeared in the Capital Wasteland and declared war on the Brotherhood of Steel.

Thinking they were nothing then a small mercenary group in over there heads the Brotherhood sent a small squad of fifty men to deal with the Blood Pack, all of them died. Knowing they had a serious threat the Brotherhood got ready for war. Ever since the Brotherhood hasn’t been doing great in the war with the Blood Pack, they’re currently losing the war.

Talon Company

Fort Bannister was overrun in 2286, the remaining remnants heading west to rebuild and eventually became the Blood Pack but a squad of ten men stayed in the Capital Wasteland as the Talon Company, but instead of trying to rebuild they decided to be an independent mercenary group, something like Riley’s Rangers. They’re the best mercenary squad in the Capital Wasteland, no doubt about it.

The Blood Pack

In 2286 the remnants of the Talon Company headed west to rebuild the Talon Company, they ended up discovering a network of large towns they ended up recruiting nearly ever citizen of each town, over a nine year period they built an army that rivalled the Brotherhood of Steel. In 2295 they launched an attack on the Brotherhood of Steel and started to set up camps in the western section of the Capital Wasteland, they headed north to the ruins of Raven Rock and managed to get into Raven Rock and rebuild a fairly large portion of it. The Blood Pack has been doing extremely well in there war against the Brotherhood of Steel.

Regulators

The Regulators are still led by Sonora Cruz, they haven’t changed much but have expanded in size and are the Sheriffs of nearly all the wasteland towns, Harden Simms is the Sheriff of Megaton.

Raiders

They haven’t decreased that much in size but they are less hostile, they tend to stick to there selves now and only attack when you come near their territory, some Raiders have scavenged Enclave tech so look out.

The Bounty Hunting Club

What started as one bounty inspired several Megatonians to form a club that revolved around completing bounties. They used the Lone Wanderer’s old house as their base of operations since he was often called the King of Bounty Hunting. The Club has it’s own shop and bar for it’s hunters, they’re both run by Brooks. The Bounty Hunting Club doesn’t have a leader, but Hunter Lock is the oldest and most experienced Bounty Hunter of the group and is one of the original members. Hunter hands out the bounties and is somewhat of an advisor for the other Bounty Hunters, he gives them tips and advice on how to handle their bounties.

The Cult

When The Cult of Atom was exiled from Megaton, some members decide to renounce there belief and the others go on to form the Cult. Little is known about the Cult but they reside Farragut station, what goes on in those tunnels is unknown.

The Tower

When Tennpenny died his tower fell into chaos, most of its residents ended up abandoning the tower but the ones that remain are xenophobic.

The Outcasts

The Outcasts were attacked by an army of Ghouls in 2281, the surviving members either rejoined the Brotherhood of Steel, joined the Blood Pack, joined a Raider group or settled in one of the towns. There’s a legend that a “weapon from the stars” is buried within their old base.

The Cobras

For seven years the Cobras have dominated the chem. trade in Megaton, they are by far the most numerous and powerful gang in Megaton and have started to expand into other territories. Harden Simms has been cracking down on the gang activity as of late and Ian Osiris has started to get annoyed.

The Click
Run by Jericho’s daughter Jasmine West the Click operates out of Springvale. They’ve never really been considered to be much in the criminal underworld of Megaton, and they are ready to change that.

The Moriarty Syndicate
Colin Moriarty indirectly controls most of Megaton, he has more influence then Harden Simms. Though he doesn’t get involved in criminal activities, his associates do, the Cobras have been working with Moriarty for the past month.
