I play Skyrim as a Redguard, using Heavy Armor/Block/One-handed/Sneak/Archery perks.
I have played Skyrim for 140 hours, and have a 12MB file. I am level 69.
I just posted a response to a thread in the PS3 Issue section of this forum. Here it is:
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1317733-latest-103-patch-problems/
I listed around 15 problems, and that was just from 20 minutes of gameplay. I had to stop because the lag got so bad.
That said, I have to confess that for the first 3 weeks after the release of this game, I was constantly praising this as, "The Best Game Ever"
If it wasn't for the FPS lag, it would still be that. The best game ever. I would be able to tolerate every other bug, seriously.
Another thing I have to confess is that this is the first TES game, nay Bethesda game I've ever bought and played. And it will certainly be my last. Although I harbor no anger or rage towards Bethesda, since ultimately I got 100+ hours out of an RPG game, I can't say that the game is perfect.
Even if Skyrim ends up being fixed sometime in the next few months, it will be my last game I buy from Bethesda. Don't get me wrong. Skyrim is freaking awesome. But the bugs are so bad, it really forces me to question the company's integrity. "Why did Bethesda release a broken game?" The question brings up over 2 million hits on google. I understand that once you fix a bug, another arises: especially in a titanic game like this. But that just means Bethesda doesn't QC at all, or maybe they do; but it's nowhere near enough. I read somewhere on this forum that the Spanish version has "S" instead of "Si" on the menus. That deserves a, "wow."
I understand PS3 is a 5 year old console, and the specs are nowhere near today's gaming PCs... but something inside of me says, "So what?" The company made and offered a PS3 version, and as of this moment it is the worst version of the game to have. I feel pretty cheated. I feel pretty jealous of XBOX360 and PC gamers. For a game to make its players regret having the console they have is....... monumental in redefining failure. I'm surprised Bethesda was even allowed to release it for PS3. Talk about a PR nightmare for Sony.
Knowing myself, I will completely forget I even made this thread in a few weeks. Even less maybe, if Bethesda fixes the PS3 FPS lag with 1.4/1.5. Skyrim might go back to being the best game I own. But there's one thing I won't forget. Bethesda has zero respect for PS3 owners, and maybe even all gamers. They skipped beta stages just to release this game in time for a profitable season *cough cough Christmas*. Is that bad from a business standpoint? Hell no. But when was the last time "it's just business" was a good excuse? That's what bad guys say in movies before they get erased. Bethesda can't wait to count out my coin. TES 6 will definitely sell millions of units, since many players are loyal to the franchise, but I can live without it. I will never buy another Bethesda game. Ever.
