Call of Duty: Black Ops

Post » Sat Nov 07, 2009 2:32 am

What? A new CoD game? With the insane Activison vs Infinity Ward debate still raging? yeah, I was surprised too.

This new game will be developed by Treyarch and published by Activison.

Call of Duty returns this November, but this is a Call of Duty like no other, this is Black Ops.

Now you will witness the birth of the Elite Special Forces and take part in off-the-record missions using unconventional weaponry to get the job done! From Cuba to the Arctic and the jungles of Vietnam, Call of Duty: Black Ops features stunning cinematic graphics and intense gameplay that puts you right at the heart of the action!

Thoughts?

PS: For those who don't know, during the Activision vs Infinity Ward debate many Infinity Ward employees jumped ship and formed a new company named Respawn. Which means that we'll never see a new CoD game by the original developers since Activision holds the licenses to the title.

Surprised? No, Call of Duty has dually developed so it has a yearly release for years. They've been working on this thing since Call of Duty: World at War was released in all likelihood. I would have been shocked if it wasn't coming out.

I'm not rewarding Activision with my money for their bullcrap, so I'm not even going to buy this. And besides, it's freaking Treyarch.

Grahhh! This sounds like the only CoD I would actually enjoy. And it comes at the time when I hate Activision the most... I refuse to go back on my principles just so I can play a game. RIP CoD. RIP Infinity Ward. Long Live Respawn!!!

I always hated Treyarch as well, but after the atrocity that was MW2, I'd rather play a CoD game by them than Infinity ($) Ward. I still probably won't be buying it though.

Umm, what was so wrong with MW2? Besides the lack of maps, I thought it was a decent game tbh.

It is pretty decent but the multiplayer is pretty bad. Why? Duel wielding shotguns, terrible spawns, annoying killstreaks, glitches, bad hit detection, etc.

I love Treyarch. WaW was by far the best in the franchise. Not to mention that Treyarch is more creative. I mean, IW would NEVER have thought of something so amazing as Nazi Zombies in a thousand years.

I've always wanted to see a CoD game in Vietnam.
So I'm kind of looking forward to this I guess.

Doesn't this belong in the CoD thread?

LOL

Anyway, I'll probably look into this a lot. World at War svcked... well, the version I have at least since it's on the Wii. Is the Multiplayer good? All I ever hear about is Nazi Zombies, are any of the other game modes good in it?

As this is now incorporated in the CoD thread further discussion can go there to keep it all together. Thanks.
