New character, advice on how to not ruin the game.

My character at the moment is a altmer sneak mage that uses clothing, which is okay to be honest. But I leveled my skills to fast and I feel I won't get much more out of that character so I want to reroll with a completely new playstyle.

One of my previous games was an orc using heavy armor, 1h and block. Only played it for like 2 hours on master from the start, but I think that was the most exciting way to play which involves actual tactics to survive.

What I'm considering:
  • I will use enchanting and smithing, but I won't powerlevel them from the start by buying out merchants then waiting etc.
  • I won't use the lover stone or the guardian stones at all, so I don't level to fast.
  • Heavy armor, 1h, block, restoration and conjuration will be my main skills. Tempted to just use 2h though, less perks.
  • I might avoid fast traveling all together, only using carriages, horses or walking for traveling.
  • I'm torn between orc, imperial or nord. Orcs are superior due to race and bonuses, but I don't like the look of them to be honest, imperials and nords are the best alternatives IMO.

So basically I'm asking what people do to not be overpowered, but not be pathetically weak on master. Also some other rules people might give themselves to not overpower yourself or for RP reasons.

Thanks
