Mind Blowing New Direction...

This is how 'PC Gamer describes CrysisII and there's no argument from this end on that statement, but can we head back into the direction of beautiful tropical islands, please...?

Not that I wish for a single second to destroy the hard work taken into making this version of the game, just the island was much more fun. It felt more open and wider space than New York, and I understand New York is like that you forum vultures. But it just doesn't feel the same.

This said awesome work on creating the parts of the big apple, Looks very nice indeed. At first I actually missed the separate parts of the suits abilities, for example it was a nice feeling to hear "maximum speed" made you feel like the suit was the important part of the game, which really it is...

Since it has been fixed into the suit as a standard you lose the feeling of the suits role, the game becomes much more simplistic in effect, Whilst I understand the feature as such is still present it felt more engaging in the original versions.

Another thing I have noticed is the influence from EA Games on the Crytek team, I'm sure as a business venture it was agreed that things were to work in favour of both development teams, but farcry was the sole reason crysis was awaited with such eager attitudes, and also why EA Games approaching crytek, I would assume...

But it appears to be losing that impressive factor what was 'Crytek' fresh new company with a different direction, and now we seem to becoming a industry standard developer. What I mean by this is not that the game is junk and not worth playing, etc.. but its in effect run of the mill...

For example you can see the BattleField3 style graphics and gameplay, it can be linked to a whole range of famous movie events, from war of the worlds introduction video footage, bourne jumping through windows from rooftops, and many more...

Even other game developers are not safe from this copying of great moments, hell im surprised you people didn't throw in some slow motion FEAR aspect's of gunfire. Crysis II seems to be just a compiled archive of great moments from famous films and games, rather than a creation in its own right.

This whilst as mentioned doesn't effect the fact's that its a great game well worth paying for, and would totally recommend it to a friend, more a informative viewpoint of what is seen when you open your eyes, the changes made are always good and bad in every game created, Crysis II is not special when it comes to this either.

The additions that can be applied to the gloves for example, extend the length of your cloaking ability to such a degree that on my second play through (with the knowledge of level design) I was pretty much able to walk right through most sections without a fight unless I provoked one.

And the constant reminder of tactical options at every single checkpoint its well annoying, Probably introduced for the console gamers but lets not lose focus with this "mind blowing new direction" Crysis was developed for the PC, and I have nothing against a console ported version, but lets not make the port over affect us proper gamers..

Dedicated PC Gamers, understand that there's often over pathways and that we require ammo from time to time, but let us find those aspects the old fashioned way. Not be told where everything is, this is the enemy soldier here (don't forget this person behind you) if you get shot you can run over to that location and there you will find a huge cannon to help you, and just in case the worse should happen dont forget to tag the exit, goodluck!!

Spoon feed the console babies please, not us more mature veterans...

The storyline was interesting, but strange that alien DNA and the suit attaching itself to the users DNA wasn't mentioned in previous version, appears like a last minute idea, but yea was engaging enough to keep you pressing forwards. I didn't wish to create a ranting thread, and Crysis II is a very nice game...

Lets just go back to the islands please, Keep some of the changes made of course there not all bad. I would love to see the original island recreated in the detail applied to this version. I remember thinking that upon the release of the original version this is a very nice looking piece of software, only a fool would claim things have gone backwards with this....

Rant, Constructive Feedback, Crying, Fanboy... Make of this thread what you will, but if your going to comment at least make it an interesting reply!!
