Nordic Landmark

One of the defining features of Bethesda's RPGs has always been the constant landmark that's visible on the distant horizon. In Oblivion it was the White Gold Tower. In Morrowind it was Red Mountain / Ghost Fence. Even that-other-game-that-shall-not-be-mentioned, had Bethesda's fingerprints all over it - the Lucky 38 tower was a glowing beacon for wasteland travelers.

What Nordish landmarks do you expect to dominate the skyline of Skyrim? Will the snowy peak of the Throat of the World be the constant point by which you orientate yourself in the world? Or perhaps some strange Nordic tower that we've yet to see will act as our navigational aid. Anyone better versed in Nordic lore care to take a better guess?

I imagine that the Mountains will be the place to see. Particular the tower at High Hrothgar!

The Columns of the Sky in Falkreath should be pretty visible. to the south.

High Hrothgar for sure.

High Hrothgar is a settlement high atop the highest peak in Skyrim, the Throat of the World. Sitting atop hundreds of massive stone steps, here dwell the ancient Greybeards who endeavor to become more attuned to the voice of the sky. The Nords believe that they were created by Kyne when the sky breathed onto the peak of the mountain, which is also known as Snow-Throat. It is possible that Hrothgar has a mystical connection with the vanished Falmer.

Yeah, the main landmark will almost certainly be High Hrothgar and the Throat of the World. You don't put a giant mountain in your game and not use it as a landmark.

What are you talking about? You couldn't see past ~200ft in Morrowind. It's only been Oblivion that had such draw distance.
