"Night of the Living Ghouls" is a soon to be released free total-world mod for Fallout: New Vegas. It will NOT be compatible with previous saves, but can be switched on or off at any given time, without disrupting any save data.

The game will take place in Louisville, Kentucky, paying tribute to the city's unique and expansive "zombie culture". Louisville's "zombie culture" includes http://www.dangerrun.com/Louisville-Zombie-Attack/, the setting of the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_of_the_living_dead series, http://www.louisville.com/content/zombie-prom-ear-x-tacy-holds-free-family-friendly-zombie-event-halloween, and the hometown of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Kirkman#Personal_life (writer of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Walking_Dead_(TV_series) and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Zombies).

Essentially, the city of Louisville has been flooded by radiation in the water flowing down the Ohio River, which caused the vast majority of survivors to become feral ghouls (the equivalent of zombies in the Fallout world).

A number of real world regions locations around Louisville will be recognized by anyone familiar with the Louisville area.

Always good to see more of the Fallout world explored. Looks like quite an expansive mod. Does it have quests?

It looks like you've put a good deal of work into this mod. My main question, though, is why did you decide to make it a total conversion mod instead of a DLC-style mod where you can travel between the different worldspaces? (I don't mod FO but I assume you can do this.) Is there voice acting?

First of all, yes there is a substantial amount of voice acting. I decided to make it a total conversion mod for a number of reasons... First off, how and why would someone all the way in New Vegas, NV make the trip across post-apocalyptic United States to Louisville, KY? I guess I could explain that one way or another, but it would have been a huge mess filled with plot holes. Also, one of the main focuses in the mod is trying to survive in extremely harsh conditions, while building your character accordingly... not to mention, weapons and supplies are extremely scarce... If I allowed players to bring equipment, it would totally disrupt the experience. I realize that I could temporarily take away equipment from the player, like a lot of DLCs do, but that would still devalue the loot found in the mod; for example: The player comes across a flamer... if it's a standalone game, and it's perhaps the only flamer in the game, the reward is a lot more valuable to the player, as opposed to if it were just a DLC-style mod, the player would feel like, "oh that's neat, but I've got one of those back in the mojave, it's not that special". Also, this way I can edit stats of weapons, enemies, and items without disrupting the original game's data.

Yes, there are a number of quests involving various competing factions.

That's very reasonable. No gripes about it, I was just curious. The screenshots look great and it sounds like it will be quite an immersive TC.

Keep this up, it's looking very well done. Like actual effort was put forth, something a lot of mods these days seem to lack. I know what it's like to invest countless hours into a project, so keep at it!

Well, I absolutely appreciate your curiosity! And thanks, I'm all about the immersion!

Oh yes... I wouldn't dare count the number of hours I've put in. Thanks a lot! I appreciate your support!
