local game store BUYING BACK NV!

Post » Mon Nov 09, 2009 7:26 am

So get this i just got back from my local Video game store that is owned by Game Stop but not under the Game Stop name went to get the game guide. They said that they will BUY BACK, Hold store credit or trade for equal value of another item any Fall Out NV that was sold from there store. Said if you do the store credit option they will contact you via phone, text or email when new Fall out NV have arrived or until problems have been fixed. And said any NV game BUY backs will be sent back to the distributer. You have to show proof of purchase from the store. ALSO that they believe from own research that it could also be a DISC issue as well (i don't know how they came to that). Saying they will keep this in place until they feel Bethesda has made a permanent fix. He (the manager) it boils down to them beliveing it cant be fixed over a Patch.

i don't know what to think about this. i kinda think that if something is not done soon that more stores might be doing this. game stop is a floor above so i walked up and talk to them only thing they said was not doing that at this time and they know of the problems.
i also this this might be a lil drastic i tolled them i was going to keep my NV. he said if it working well then dont worry about. said they would call if something did happen where i needed to bring it back in.

I have like 10 game stops with in 10 miles of me im going to call them see what they say

PS to Bethesda tho get on your game and FIX THIS ASAP or i see this happening more.

Bethesda make me look like stupid  and shoot this down PLZ tell use someting.

what you guys think or has this happen in your area?

I actually have no idea where all these crash and instability and bug cries come from. My F:NV is by FAR more stable than F3 ever was and ALL the bugs I've encountered I can count on one hand (Yes, I only have five fingers) I have the PC version that (Judging by the Hardware and Software Issues board) had the most problems.

This is the PS3 issue forum, not the PC. I respect the fact that you think PS3s are cool, but Bethesda seems to think otherwise. They have yet to resolve this.

Longer answer interests?

PC's can have numerous things that affect gameplay, far more then a console. However, the flip side to that is they have more things that can enhance gameplay, as opposed to a console. Also they can release fixes more fluidly through the internet to PCs then to Xbox or god forbid..... a PS3.

I'm happy (yet admittedly jealous) for you that you got to experience Fallout for all its glory. I think the most frustrating part, is that PS3 users can see the fun, entertainment and dare I say excitement within the game, but some of us have yet to realize it's full potential.

Bottom line, we both, you and I paid $60 for a game. One of us is enjoying it, the other is not.

Hey moron, this is for people who have the PS3 game not the PC game. Don't care about PC cause they already got
2 patches since its release. Always the case that they care more about the pc than the consoles....

Go to the pc side of the forum....

i don't regret the 60$ i spent at all. what i hate is i can see the game in all its glory and fun. But what i hate is when im BALLS DEEP in the game trying to figure something out, killing things OR half the time geting killed or chased by something when the game has ONE of the many stupid glitches or for god sakes freezes. it just kills it for me thats just my opinion im just saying.

it makes me wont to do this to my PS3 :brokencomputer: even tho i know its not my ps3 lol

My gamestop gave me a full refund. Defective product=refund. No matter what the "store policy" says. Hope they fix it for real. Would love to actually "play" the game...

Hmm...? Heh. Didn't notice that. I click on the interesting topics on the main board section. Takes me all over this place. (And I'm above average intelligence, I'm just too lazy to use it ;))

That pretty much sums up my feelings exactly.
It's like I said in another thread, the time that I'm able to actually play between freezes is amazing fun. I really do like the game and I wouldn't return it even if Best Buy would allow it and waived the restocking fee. As annoying and frustrating as it is, I'm willing to dig in and wait for Beth to work out the problems.

Im digging in for the long haul to just hope its not to long. Im optimistic in they can wright this in a reasonable amount of time. wish i knew what was going threw Beth head wright now.

Im kinda getn the feeling that now they made there money on initial sales now they can sit take their time to fix it.
BUT at the same time i wont them to fix it wright.

Oh dear, If that offer becomes rather public which I doubt I can see a lot of first-time FO:NV players - with the difficulties - swapping them for Star Wars; CoD; Assassins Creed; etc. It's a shame, FO series is actually incredible if you get into it.

Actually, my PS3 plays :fallout: New Vegas almost flawlessly. I could count the issues I've encountered with less that half my hand (5 fingers per hand). Yeah, only 2 problems. 1: The random skip lag (caused by me rushing and not letting the game buffer enough before going too far). 2: Only 1 freeze that I had to restart my PS3.

P.S. - I don't have the patch, which I belive is evil, so I'm waiting for the 2nd patch to come out before I patch my game. Yes, I'm playing with game verion 1.0. I don't really care. It works fine for now.
