Did you make the largest possible install?
Only installing the 12mb install will cause such errors.

If you did do the largest install, then I suggest you to remove and reinstall the game.
I had similar problems, but in the end it was just my own stupidity.

And remember to patch your game!

I purchased the same box set off of amazon and had some problem installing Tactis, it took a half hour where as the other two took about 2 minutes to install both, but they all run perfectly. Of course I had all the originals installed on my PC before and moved them to my zip drive, I'm keeping the original discs pretty for some weird obsessive reason that I can't nail down...

You are doing something wrong here...
Seems that FO2 is hardest one to install.

right click on the .exe file, go to "properties" and then a small window pops up. Click on the "compatibility" tab look for the little check-box under "compatibility mode" and choose Windows 98/ME from the drop down menu.

I dunno mate. I've never had problems with it. I'd take it up with the techs at Interplay if I were you.

Hi. Sorry just read this now.

You said, 'when you go to play Fallout 2' does that mean you were able to install it already? And you get the message cannot 'find/load text fonts'?

Is that because you're trying to load it from the Start Menu? Or from the Desktop shortcut that the installation made? I got that message too after a fresh install, but only when I tried to run it from the Start Menu.

Try going directly to the Fallout 2 folder using 'My Computer' and then clicking on the Fallout2.exe file there. That got it working for me.

Then for the future. Delete the Start Menu shortcut and the Desktop shortcut, and replace them by right-clicking on the Fallout2.exe from the folder and clicking Send to Desktop (Create Shortcut). That should create a new shortcut with the correct path.

Post again if you need more help.

Glad to hear it. Remember to run it in compatibility mode anyway though. :vaultboy:
