What oddinteresting things have you discovered in Oblivion?

Wow, what's your problem? Geez what a [censored] this poster is!

You know...I did have a character named Dyan for awhile back. There was this one time when a bandit didnt' attack Dyan on site. It coudln't have been due to disposition though. I think it was just a glitch.

Dyan walked right up to this Redguard bandit on the road just west of Cheydinhal. The bandit did not ready her warhammer (or whatever she was carrying). Dyan noticed this and did not draw her sword, either. There was no fight. Dyan "let" the bandit live, since Dyan had a policy of allowing those who "give up their evil ways, and give into the NINE" to allow them to purge themselves of their sins.

There was also a goblin who didn't attack Dyan, so that particular goblin, deep in some cave, is also still alive. I later learned that
Spoiler
goblin chefs or cooks do not always attack on sight!
Now, now. Play nicely, children. No name-calling. That's rather interesting that the cooks wouldn't attack. I would never have found that out, for my character hasn't any mercy to spare for goblins. They remind him of lesser Orcs (if there is such a thing. Orcs are such a waste of life) and deserve to die. I made myself some super boots in the construction set once. I gave them a custom enchantment that fortified my acrobatics by some very large number. When I tested them out, I jumped so high the game crashed in seconds. Won't be doing that again. I probably should have named them "Moon Shoes". Teheh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaMY8XakxQ8

I had a wild one last night. WabbaJill (my newest character) had just arrived in the IC. She entered Talos Plaza, and, it being the middle of the night, she immediately encountered Jakben, Earl of Imbel. He took one look at her, made a condescending remark, cast invisibility on himself, and began attacking WabbaJill. The guards swarmed him and "knocked him unconscious." (He's essential, of course.) He woke up and restarted the attack, several times.

WabbaJill left the district, wandered around a bit (she had some night-time business to attend to), and came back to Talos Plaza a couple of hours later. Here's Jakky! More merry chase ensued. Jakky was probably "killed" about 10 times. WabbaJill was jumping all over the the scenery, and I was laughing my head off.

You need to understand something. WabbaJill is supposed to be the crazy one. Crazy as a loon. She's completely impulsive. She shoots goblins with a fireball after they're dead, just for being ugly, then she shoots them some more. This was just plain craziness, none of her doing...and it was glorious.

This promises to be a very fun character.

That's awesome! How did you finally end it? I would have become impatient and used "tai" in the console or simply delete him and place him somewhere else.

I just left him there. If my character stays away for 3 days, he'll probably "forget" whatever it was that set him off. He's an essential character in one of the quest lines, and I don't know yet if this character will want to deal with him later.

In any case, I know that he's only there at night. He has a rather unusual "schedule," because he's "unusual."

A little nerd-ish perhaps, but it actually does a lot. I also have a few old wooden things and a stone exactly shaped like a soul gem next to my screen. Boy, I am a nerd! :ahhh:
If you use a lighter it doesn't count. I often talk to the NPC's when they say something to me. They're like my little buddies... :bonk:

Yeah. I hate how quickly they run out, though. If I didn't get a butane ligher for my pipe, I'd end up spending more on matches than on the tobacco I buy. Speaking of flames, it has always bothered me that all of the caverns, forts, buildings, etc. in games are always lit up. Candles and torches go out and need to be replaced. Indoor fires produce a lot of smoke. Enough to smother anyone in a cave within a few hours. I realize that these places have to be lit in order to play effectively, but the cynic in me has always been bugged by that.

Oh, they don′t use real fire. If you look close enough you′ll see it′s a DVD that loops recorded fire on a plasma screen

I thought they all burned http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AppliedPhlebotinum, which we all know is smokeless, and never expends any fuel. ;)
