When I wear this armor it makes my char run really slow, anyone know why? Thanks.

No just sold some stuff, when char is naked he runs at fast speed. Are there some speed penalty?

Security armor shouldn't

haha, GARY

make you run slow, it's mainly power armor that does that.

For simple explination reasons, i will clasify items into 3 speed catigorys.

Armor equipped

1-fast- prewar clothes, wasteland outfits. pretty much everything with no DR.
2-medium- Raider armors, combat armor, recon armor, things with light DR.
3-slow- POWER ARMOR! (like a tank compared to a jeep.) and for some reason, the Vault Security armor falls in this category. i guess it is to make the player not seem like a overwhelming demigod right out of the vault.

weapons armed (out infront of the character) also effect the speed.

1-fast- pistols, knifes, ripper, etc small weapons
2-medium- all rifles (except gauss rifle) fall here and med sized melee like swords and bats.
3-slow- all heavy weapons and the gauss rifle, also heavier melee weapons like sledgehammers.

Agility also slightly effects your speed.
Another thing, i have noticed a difference between girl and guy characters.
Girls tend to be faster but not have as good of a damage resistance
Guys tend to be a bit slower but have a little better damage resistance.

Want a true fast character? Girl, 10 agility, wearing wasteland clothes, using brass knuckles.

Cheers for the info. I'm using medium armor atm, much faster run speed.

Btw what's the requirement to use power armor?

you have to gain access to the citidel (later in the main quest line). the paladin drill sergant will show you how after you get permission from Lyons.
