Just finished Skyrim; is is me, or does Fallout 3 have much

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 1:09 am

As cool as Max Von Sydow is in Skyrim, and he is cool, blown away with both Liam Neeson AND Ron Perlman within first 5 min of Fallout 3...Damn, Anyway, I was expecting this game to look rough, but if anything, I am pretty blown away with the character models.......I realize this game is 2 gigs larger without DLC, and wonder if that is part of it

Not complaining, happily surprised....

Off to play Fallout 3

Yeah, I did notice that. Fallout 3 character models do look better than Skyrim's but are often times very generic looking. The only thing that was so generic in Skyrim were the children. I have prosopagnosia so that was a nightmare for me (more so than in Fallout 3).

Thanks for the response....interesting on the kid NPCs - kids are harder to read facially? I was just weirded out three of them wanted to kick my butt....

I will say that 3rd person view for Fallout is wonky, and clearly designed to be played (really) in 1st person. Skyrim I played 3rd pretty much exclusively

I was blown away by this question? Not to sound like a hater, but are you serious?

I love Fallout3 and all, but the game engine and renderer for Skyrim are way better!

It's like comparing graqes and graqefruit.

Now if you are saying you liked the character design or art style way better, then I am on board...

I think the Skyrim character models look better IMO. Fallout 3's NPC's have more depth when it comes to actual character.

If there's something to like from Skyrim, it's the character creation and NPC character models. Skyrim is superior in that area of expertise.

It seems to me that Skyrim and Fallout 3 body meshes are very similar. It's hard for me to say that one is better than the other.

Not ever playing skyrim and only Fallout3 from Bethesda ... Id say Sony did a better job in EQ2.
FO3 are clunky in comparison , Its very evident right from char creation.
But ofcourse there is no comparison to how sony kneeled to the masses and destroyed the mechanics.

I play Skyrim on the Computer and Fallout on the Xbox, have only made it past the Vault 101 though, not really sure how to play. I really like the feel of fallout, kind of an empty loneliness, but I love the beauty and look of skyrim, only if Bethesda could combine the two games. The Elders Scross VI: Fallout........

No, not ever. I'd like to welcome you to Fallout and I hope you enjoy the series, but Bethesda needs be respectful of their purchase and keep Fallout as far away from The Elder Scrolls as possible.

I just started FO3, but I've spent a lot of time in the Mojave, and I can honestly say (in the politest manner possible) I have no idea how you could even compare the character models in FO to Skyrim. There is little to no variation between most of the NPCs in FO, at least imo. Don't get me wrong, I love both the series, but I have to disagree that FO has better looking NPCs.

The Skyrim hair is disgusting. By disgusting I mean it looks hideous. Looks like something from a low end PC.

I have never played any of the Elder Scrolls games, but I have lurked on the forums. I will say that I prefer the NPC's in Fallout over the non-human ones in the Elder Scrolls games. I guess it's just a matter of personal taste.
