I know there are a lot of people who dislike this DLC for some reason but I thought it was a refreshing change of pace. I like winter landscapes, plus it was pre war! Fallout 3 is all about you being alone, hence being the Lone Wanderer, but you actually get to be in a squad! Plus, you are actually in the U.S. Army, whereas in Fallout 3 you are always an "honorary member" when it comes to groups. It was nice to just go in and kill and overtake the Chinese! Liberating Anchorage felt nice and I felt a new connection to the place whenever I see Anchorage mentioned. Hell, I even paid my respects at the Anchorage Memorial. When I see the statue of the soldiers at Anchorage, I can think to myself: "I was there!" Yes, I wasn't there physically but I may as well have been. Death in sim=death in real life. Good enough for me. It was nice using clean weapons rather than the dirty wasteland ones.
I know the Pitt and Point Lookout are more of a porper RPG DLC, but getting Anchorage was a nice treat. Sometimes you just need to shoot people up and have fun.
Anyone else here appreciate Anchorage?
