When i install the second disk of goty edition it will install fine but wen i got to the actual game none of the radio signals pop up on my screen and at the menu the downloads icon will not be clickable. i got the game only a few days ago. Do i have to update my game with patches in order for them to work? my version is pc and my os is windows 7

Did you make sure to check the DLC in the Data File section of the game launcher?

Sounds like your trying to enable the content from the wrong screen. Yes the word Downloads appear greyed out and unclickable.

But the preivious screen with .... Play , options,Data files, tech support, Exit ..... from this screen select "Data files" instead of "Play"
You will then see a small window with check boxes by each DLC. Select the content you wish to enable from there.
Close and press play ..... should work.

How ever if you havent gone through the main quest ... selecting " Broken Steel" wont work untill done. But the ending will be given away by 3 dogs rantings on GNR. or so ive heard. So its advised not to select that one till your rdy for it.
