Fallout Wikis

That's the main one, right? Is it the only one?

To be honest, for The Elder Scrolls, I consider UESP borderline "official" even though it says on the front page that it's unofficial. It's just so good, I know I can trust it.

How do you guys find the Fallout Wikia one? Is it dependable? So far it's been good to me - I've used it a few dozen times just looking up little obscure tidbits.

I've used Nukapedia(wikia) exclusively so far without knowing about the Vault(wiki) and it hasn't failed me yet.

I thought this would have been about how well written the are, but you have the wikia one and in my opinon thats all you need.

Was nukapedia previously the vault also? Cause I still put in the vault on Google and nukapedia is the first option.

Yeah, I also seem to remember fallout.wikia.com being named the Vault. Either it was changed while I was away, or I'm just delusional.

Hmm, this is confusing. I have used the Vault as well, it looks familiar. I can never find it on google these days, though. Wikia always comes up first.

Which do you guys think is the most well written/informative?

"The Vault" was at Nukapedia's location until late last year, when part of the community split. There was a dispute between Ausir and Wikia over the ownership of the name (Ausir brought "The Vault" to wikia), the remaining community decided to basically undermine wikia and rename even though Wikia were willing to fight to keep the name - it would have been a bad idea.

I'm biased, but I'd say the info reliability is top notch, prior to the split at least there's compelling evidence that the Bethesda Devs used the wiki to help flesh out the world.

Wait, so Wikia is the good one, or Nukepedia?

There is not a single person in the world who knows more about the Fallout franchise than Ausir. Use his wiki. Use it well. ;)

I agree use Ausir's. I only talked to him once, but he was very reasonable. It was about Fallout Tactics.

But be warned, much of wiki can be edited by anyone. So it isn't always right. So if you plan to get all your info from wiki, it might not be such a good idea.

Also keep in mind that The Vault or what ever name it now goes by is all things Fallout. Anything related to the Fallout Uninverse, canon or not can be found there. So you might find something and be like "thats awesome!" or "here is proof those guys on the forum are wrong" and then post it and make a fool of yourself because you used none-canon material.

theres really no difference between them at this stage. the differences will come when FO4 is released. The Vault has some of the better writers, but Nukapedia has the better community stuff.

No, more on the Wiki side of their high ups.

The creator of it moved it over to Curse, then Wiki basically.. threw a fit.

On topic.

I would stick with the Vault, but you can use either for now until the Next Fallout. Once it comes out, I'll be sticking with The Vault, due to its past reliability. The old might have pros & cons, but Nukepedia is fresh out of the fire. Never know what may happen to it.

I think the staff and members moved the the Nukapedia, and it says that wikia can't update their content on the wiki (if i'm reading it correctly) which means Nukapedia should be the good one

Also The Vault does't show up when you search it.

here is a link to my info : http://www.falloutwiki.com/Forum:The_Vault_is_moving
