Not sure what choice to make in the strip?

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 5:27 pm

Hi, I have just made my way to the strip in new Vegas and I'm not sure what I should do next. I have confronted Benny at tops and killed him. (I also got into a big gun fight in there and killed all his security). I found his 'yes man' robot and started the quest where I need to choose if I want to take over Vegas myself and eliminate various factions, I also went to see Mr House and started the quest to return the platinum chip to him (which I now have after killing benny), I also spoke to the NCR who seem to want to control the strip themselves, have been asked to meet with Caesar at Fortification hill, which is also one of the places that the 'yes man' robot mentioned regarding the platinum chip... thats as much as I can remember off hand, they all seem to cross paths and I am not sure what is the best choice to make?? I try and keep my Karma good and keep the mass murder to a minimum (bad guys only). Is there a better choice with that in mind? thanks, Russ.

It boils down to what you want.

Caesars Legion: Slavery and overly brutal 'peace'
NCR: Corrupt Democracy
House: Progress over people.
Yes-Man: Anarchy or an inefficient system

You can go to Fortification Hill if you want to talk to Caesar, but Mr. House, Yes Man, and Caesar will all tell you what the chip does if you ask deeply enough. You can try to clear out all of the casinos and then blow all of your cash on a nice anti-material rifle. If you are going for good karma... Legion is definitely not it, and I would doubt that Mr. House's string of quests are good karma giving ones. It all depends on what you want New Vegas to look like in the future, as Colonel Martyr said above.

If you want best karma, go independent and at the same time do the NCR quests. If you want good karma, go NCR. If you want good Karma but like House, go House and do some NCR or independent side quests to get your karma up. Legion is incompatible with good karma, because most of their quests will have you killing off good characters and factions.

You have 4, Legion, House, Yes Man and NCR - I say them in order that you should do them. ;)
Legion have a no tolerance approach.
House, like Martyr said, is the progress of Vegas rather than well being of its inhabitants.
YesMan is just what ever you choose gone wrong - horribly wrong (In my case anyway).
NCR is money money....money and land with the odd person being well looked after, corrupt and selfish hiding behind the mask of "democracy".

Not really, but doing their quests certainly puts your karma down quite a bit.

Unless you just don't do anything Caesar tells you to do.

Their goals and assorted assignments are less than good. At the least, I would say that it is evil-neutral sort of stuff.

Legion=teh svck for karma. Those who would sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither-that fits the Legion perfectly.

In the long run, the NCR is probably the most qualified for the good karma. They want to stop the Legion from enslaving the area and are willing to work with House to see it happen. House isn't much better than the Legion, there is just less slavery under his watch. Yes Man is a creepy, creepy little robot. I don't trust him.

That stands for all the factions not just Legion. Putting yourself under any banner takes away from your freedom but it always provides security.

svck for karma how, I have Very Good sta all the way through the game.

If you're taking the Karma issue serious, then it's either NCR or Yes Man for you.
Following these paths will spare you from being forced to eradicate other factions(well, you'll have to deal with House then), something the Legion and House will demand you to do.
However, i'd first of all recommend you not to take sides too quickly. You can follow all 4 questlines (NCR,House,Yes Man,Legion) for a certain while without being sanctioned by the factions, and it's pretty fun making some persons think you'd be working for them, while actually you aren't.

By this logic, Yesman is the one that provides the most freedom. This I agree with.

We don't approve of the use of logic around these parts....
