Best Stories in Fallout New Vegas? DLC included!

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 2:43 am

I have read a few forums that say New Vegas lacks story and depth, but i couldn't disagree more. I thought the main story of the game was quit brilliant, because if a power source, like the Hoover damn, survived a nuclear apocalypse, you can almost guarantee those that are trying to rebuild would fight and kill for the control of it.

However my favorite story in the game, has to be the honest hearts story.. specifically the back story to zion, and how the sorrows came to be, because of the survivalist, and i thought Joshia Graham was a very compelling character.. I am always a svcker for stories that deal with redemption, and finding peace with one's self through good works, and never giving up.

But that was just the first one on my list :D... this game is filled with great ones... What's your guy's favorites?

The survivalist's diaries were definitely the best written.

Next up would be Vault 11, because the ending was such a punch in the gut.

Dead Money was pretty good too, and I'm sure I missed a lot of stuff the first time around.

Old World Blues actually has a pretty good story. A tale of six scientists, five of whom lost all sight of ethics and morality in the face of their own technological power. The remaining scientist sacrificed everything, including his sanity, to restrain them, spending centuries acting as their jailor, protecting the world from their depredations. But he couldn't bring himself to kill the people who once were his friends.

All set against a backdrop of science gone wrong, the horrible atrocities unleashed by the five, and the nightmare machines created by the one to contain and suppress them.

It also ties heavily to Dead Money, further illustrating just how bad the five were.

Other than DLC, the Come Fly With Me quest with Jason was probably my best story in New Vegas

I thought Mr. House's story was very well good too.. spiecally his tie to the faction's struggling to control hoover damn. The chareceter himself was well writen... It was very hard for me not to go along with his sceme to take over new vegas and help him fofill his vision for human kind. However, I had to go with NCR since i always want to be a good guy, and base my dission on what is best for the biggest amount of people.

Mr. House essentialy is a gangster... a very Brilliant one. with strong vision.. but he is still a gangster.. and from his tower, he does not see the lives he has and would destroy if it ment slowing what he felt as "progress", I knew killing him was the right thing to do... becasue he had lived for too long.. He said it him self.. he is flesh and blood.. that means he is human.. and he will make mistakes.. and he is no above human temptation and curruption...

The most Evil chatecter in the game is Caesar.. He made an army using fear and brutailty. And from what i found out during playing... Mr house wasn't much different on how he gathered his Army, to meet the NCR at Hoover damn.

I think the Survivalist's Diaries were extremely good.
This is one of the main reasons I like Honest Hearts so much.

When I think about the survivilist story and his dairy.. I imagine if it was a movie... the actor would start out as... ryan goseling.... and by the end... he would be Clint Eastwood..... Just picture a bad asss Old Dude wearing that Desert Ranger Combat Armor... Which is the best and coolest looking armor in the game so far.... still playing havn;t played lonesome roads yet... Im on old world blues right now......

Old world blues does have a nice story.... But........ Its more comedy in my opinion... and its a really nice break in pase from some of the other darker stories... It reminds me of an old school 70's sigh-fi movie.....
