Merging Animations

Post » Tue Nov 10, 2009 6:24 am

EDIT: new question, Anyone know how to merge two string palettes together in an animation?

okay, I found that if i merge two animations togther using OMPAW (Oblivion Mount Project Animation Warper), that afterwards all the little txt buttons on the text string values ends up dissapearing.

This menas that any controll block editing must be done before i merge them, which is annoying if i find out later i need to edit something (like a bone name or something on a control block).

I think that putting it through blender fixes it, but it also has a habit of corrupting my animation then too (appartely blender doesnt like my custom skeleton very much).

So is there any way to get these [txt] buttons back other then blender?

I found out in the past, that having more than one NiStringPalette (like in two different pallets, not 2 of the same pallet) in an animated nif will cause the string values to become uneditable, even if one or more of the pallets are not actually hooked up to anything. The mere existence of an extra & different pallet cause the strings to become uneditable. I think more recent version of Nifskope fixed this issue, but I could be wrong.

I'd search to see if the merging of those animations, also merged into the new kf, the two different NiStringPallets from those two different animations. If so, try deleting one of those pallets, and see if the other pallet then becomes editable.

dang it, you're right it does have two string palettes in it...obviously they arent merged together....

Anyone know how to merge two string palettes together in an animation? As far as I know, even editing them is pretty hard.

There should only be 1 nistringpalette per sequence.

to make any additions to them, you can't edit them directly, you have to add extra controlled blocks to the controlled blocks array of the nicontrollersequence, and it'll appear in the palette.
create new controlled block, add the nistringpalette as the string palette, then create a new string in the palette by adding the blocks name in node name offset.
I'm looking at a nif with 2 sequences and 1 nistringpalette each..so that's 2 this nif. I can edit either by simply adding any node I want to the controlled blocks array. < could be wrong but I don't think that very new in nifskope.

pain in the butt.
