Shutup. If you dislike my topic, don';t bump it to the top of the recent threads by dumping on it.

That doesn't really make any sense at all.

Also, here are my thoughts on the subject of the Dwemer returning, and a recommended read if you want to know more about them:

It disregards lore clearly established by the last three games about Nirn and the nature of the Dwemer's fate, and it removes pretty much everything that makes them mysterious and interesting in the process.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Velorien.

... You just took all the fun away. Maybe bethesda has a way to bring them, or some more remnants, of them back. Perhaps a "weakened" dwemer from an outer realm. Or of a different varient. Or maybe falmer who documented stuff... I dunno

Or an elder scroll shows dwemer in the past... O.o
The power of the scrolls is limitless. It could in fact erase the events of the dwemer, or the power they had. It could bring them to the level of the almer.... It could do anything.

You don't need to get offended because people don't like your idea. The disappearance of the Dwemer is already explained in lore, and I'm not convinced the power of the scrolls is limitless. I don't think the Empire would have lost the Great War if the scrolls were unlimited sources of power. They probably could have conquered Akavir, too, and prevented the Septim bloodline from dying out if the scrolls were limitless.

My idea:
Second Great War.
1. Dwemer all moved to beneath winter hold
2. Their underground ruins caved in (The Great Collapse)
3. They are still down there, trapped with an ancient weapon of some kind of mass destruction
4. Thalmor, empire, and stormcloaks (if they're still around) learn of the ancient weapon
5. After much fighting and the Thalmor taking the Imperial City, the fighting leads to the Dwemer ruin.
6. This Dwemer ruin makes black reach look puny
7. Find the weapon, all of a sudden the Dwemer surround you, everyone is confused because we thought they were dead.
8. War is over, weapon is locked away forever, Dwemer live on <3

That all sounds worse than attempting to bring them back as they are now. Why do you want them back so badly if you're willing to accept an "average" version of them? The major appeal is the mystery surrounding them, and to bring them back as more average mortals...it defeats the purpose.

Familiarize yourself with the lore. The Dwemer aren't just "missing" or something. They all vanished into thin air thousands and thousands of years ago. The god, Vivec, said he had no sense of their presence anywhere, in any realm. If they were just sitting under Winterhold, it would be a travesty to the lore and incredibly boring. Again, I'd recommend reading my thread on the subject, because I go into far more detail: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1328475-return-of-the-dwemer-bad-idea/

They are a giant robot that was destroyed (sometimes) in Daggerfall. There is one survivor that did not become the stompyrobot, and he got corprus and is probably dead after Morrowind blewed up. Becoming a robot was almost certanly intentional, but beyond that there are a lot of cool questions that all link together into a sort of "negative-color" narrative, where each question leads into the next rather than each answer. It's all pretty cool, It means we already have pretty much all the coolest information about them entirely through Socratic questioning.

It all amounts to, any prequel involving them would destroy the interesting way that we have learned about them by using a normal-color narrative and any sequel involving them would involve breaking most established Dwemer lore. So basically, my answer to this thread, and all the times this thread will be repeated (and it will, I assure you), no, it's not an idea that should be pursued.

I think the dwemer fanboyism should pretty much end, or you could actually research the topic and see why making them return in anyway is pretty much idiotic.

ALSO FOR THE LAST TIME WE KNOW HOW THEY DISAPPEARED.
