The upshot of it is, if you don't feel you can complete a mod by the time the tournament deadline comes up, don't enter it. Choose another mod, another mod category, or wait for the next tournament. It's not that complicated, really. The judges haven't been picked, we've had no entries yet, it's two months away, and it's for fun and prizes. Please don't make this out to be some gladiatorial life or death competition.
Those of us still modding Morrowind are all pretty low maintenance now
It's for the love of the game and of challenging yourself rather than huge kudos - though that said in the past 2 years I've seen some breathtaking mods - MGE XE, MCP, MOLEX, Vurt's landscaping all come to mind as reinvigorating my personal game - and I'm still downloading and adding mods
However I do think modders have a certain competitive spirit and competitions do bring our ego's to the fore
I've always enjoyed seeing how Flig supports the community and stirs up interest in modding - I hope he is going to release something this time round as well
A little gladiatorial sparring would add some spice - in the end though it would be just cool to see a bunch more mods released
And while you want the judges to be neutral and not know who submitted what - some of us have pretty distinctive art styles that are easy to pick - everytime I walked into one of Korana's homes I knew exactly who had made that, if I play with one of Emma's or Westly's faces - yep I know their style, ditto phijama's weapons, ditto AS and Plangkye's clothes.
That said it is a good opportunity for some of us to tidy up our hard-drives and let go of some things that might have been made for projects that never quite made it.
I'm always impressed with the effort GHF puts in to supporting modders and modding - I must come by and lurk again sometime
edit: wish I'd stop spelling 'my' as 'by'
