Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition vs Paying for DLC?

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 10:20 pm

My playing of Skyrim has motivated me to again pop Oblivion into the console, and because I've never played any of Oblvion's DLC, I thought I should also purchase Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine...here's my question:

From what I can tell, downloading just Shivering Isles alone through XBOX's marketplace is 2400 points of $30. But, according to Amazon's description of the new Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition, it comes with both Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine and costs $30 + Shipping?

Am I missing something or does it just make complete sense to buy the new 5th Anniversary Edition of Oblivion, and enjoy the DLC and bonus features, plus I'll be saving money...?

If Shivering Isles alone is 2400 points, then yeah get the 5th Anniversary Edition. I already had the basic game, and wanted the DLC (particularly Shivering Isles and KOTN) so I bought the 5th Anniversary Edition. You get a "making-of" DVD with it as well, and a snazzy Cyrodiil / Shivering Isles map.

I then invested my microsoft points in a few other DLCs I wanted. Worked out a lot better. Plus, I prefer physical copies of things rather than just a download, and I like collecting game maps. Win-win.
