Is there any reason we can't have a 'console' on our console versions of Skryim?
Of course it's a pain in the ass to enter text one letter at a time using a controller, but still better than nothing and it would serve as a way to quickly fix any bugs that arise after Bethesda makes its final patch.

I'm not totally sure, but I think it's due to you having access to big chuncks of the file system on the PC, while everything being locked down on the consoles.

So I think it's something to do with data access.

I think it has more to do with the Achievement stuff, and the fact that a console would allow cheating.

Edit: Oh, and this is the Oblivion forum section, since you mentioned Skyrim, but I would imagine that the same answer would apply to any game.
