New to the game.

I'm new to the game & experiencing probs.I downloaded a patch as game was crashing 2-3 x/nite.It still would crash/stop but last cple days ok.Now tonite when i held a gun it would fire 1 shot without me touchin mouse.I restarted game twice before that stopped but then guns would not be in my hand when i used hotkeys. It seems that there r lots of glitches for myself an others.I contacted support 2x in past 2 days but havent heard from them.Does Bethesda svck, or just this game?

Heres what you need to know if you want to have fun with this game:

Bethesda has [censored] y writers, so dont even try to make sence of the rediculous plot holes and crap in the main story, Just play the mq it for what it is, a non-sence story with bad writing, but(if you can get past the first part, which I have troubles doing) fun never the less.

I have mixed opinions of combat in this game.

The best part about the game is the map. Once you go through the crappy subways and find fast travel points in all the "zones" of DC, the city is a blast to explore(especialy if you have seen the monuments irl). The rest of the wasteland is very fun too, definately focus on exploaring in this game.

OR.. buy FONV. It has a decent map(though not as good as FO3s map, but close enough for the game to still outweigh it imo), a good,4 sided MQ(that makes sence), better crafting, better companions, better weapons/combat(aim down sights is a BIG plus), and more.Plus, if you get all the dlc for it, you are in for a story arc/moral lessons that are amazing, and makes the game seem like more than just a game.

Just my two caps. FO3 was very good, but NV is better in allmost every way(IMO at least).

Take FO3 as a tutorial for FO:NV use it to understand the gameplay and other elements, then enjoy the ride ;)

Always note that cars & land mines are great working together. Running from a supper mutant, but laid a mine field near some cars? You just saved your self.

You are going to find your self looking for ammunition all of the time, so be sure to loot decent items to sell later.

Medical supplies will tend to be a must, sense a majority of this game is you being shot at as well. Though it tends to be a horde of people instead of one.

New Vegas is too easy man,you should keep playing Fo3 and the game will teach you a thing or two about what Fallout used to be.

Both games R uber-awesome. Imo New Vegas is better so I'd suggest starting with Fallout 3 (save the best for last).

Advice? Don't worry about "karma". Play as U like. If you need to improve karma just give that bum in front of Megaton sum purified water. He's a snob & won't take no damn' dirty water. Purified water is ez to find & the bum can't ever get enuff. Need to lower karma? Work with me over in Paradise Falls.
