Hello, happy new year and thanks in advance for your help.

Here's the issue:

I collected all scout reports and the quest updated to return to the Elder.

Reaching the Elder however, I can not hand him over the reports - there's no dialog option for this. Even speaking to Hardin only gives the option to tell him that Namara send me on report collection mission.

Could it play a role that I had to collect the last report of the scouts dead body (got killed by a deathclaw)?

Any idea how to fix this? One move would be to jump over the quest, but then I miss out XP and I have those reports cluttering my inventory.
