So called "Epic battle"?

The Bozar of GRA was modelled after a Barret in the classics, but that's neither a .50 nor a sniper rifle :hehe:

The producers were creating a hype in the other DLC's about the "epic battle" between the courier and ulysses, buuuuut .. when you can kill ulysses with one shot from the holofifle even before he draws hes weapon .. you can't call that epic. You can call the person who killed ulysses epic, but not the fight. What do u think?

Do it twice then come back and tell us how easy that was

Very easy difficulty with energy weapons at 100. I don't think you could even take out a quarter of his health with a holorifle shot to the head on normal...

Read the whole tread before answering - as i have explained before, i was in sneak mode, used slasher, and had EC max charge .. and shot twice (I know i wrote 1 at first, but as i already explained, i remembered wrong)

Level of ability when playing a game does not translate into level of proficiency in game design. Playing and creating are two entirely different beasts. Like singing and writing lyrics for example; you could be blessed with the most awesome voice in the world, doesn't mean you can instantly write great lyrics as well.

Honestly, I hate the whole "you don't play on ULTRA HARD MODE, so I know more than you" mentality - it's a sad excuse to try and show off about being good at a game. Well done, have a pat on the back, you are a god etc etc

Funnily enough, these folks often don't know more about the game than anyone else, and in fact often know less; they tend to follow a build someone else figured out that could crush pretty much anything (and there is always such a build), without actually knowing why it does so. The guy who came up with it usually does, though, since such builds tend to require detailed anolysis of the game's mechanics to figure out. It doesn't help that in a lot of cases the ability to play on the hardest difficulty has less to do with any inherent skill and/or build strength and more to do with ruthless abuse of broken mechanics, as the latter cannot be countered by the AI and usually guarantees success.

----------------------------------------------------

While the Ulysses fight is a bit too easy if you have top-end weapons and AP ammo, that's arguably better than the probable alternative, where such things would be required to even have a chance at killing him. While that level of durability has its place, this fight isn't it; the game is not calibrated to the degree of difficulty usually associated with such bosses, and running into that large a shift would massively piss off a large percentage of the player base.

Could it have been a 'better' fight? Probably (some would say 'Definitely'), but the way it's set up any increases run the risk of making it a bit too difficult for anyone not using heavy weapons, so it's best left alone.

Too true, if any suggestions that emerge from these gaming 'gurus' aren't harebrained, they are usually geared towards competitive gaming. Which they fail to realise not everyone enjoys. And as has been stated, I can't take seriously anyone who would get an ego over how good they may be at a game, exploiting mechanics or not.

Wait til your game skills put a Ferrari in your garage, THEN you can have an ego. ;)

Whats the point of making your enemy stronger than he is by default... especially when making him stronger doesnt mean beefing up his AI but merely making him more of a bulletsponge?

This is why the highest I go is normal- I hate bulletsponges. If higher difficulty meant better AI I would play on very hard.

(102 - 8) * 1.5 * 1.25 * 2 * 2 * .90 = 635 damage

Ulysses has 1060 health. And 18 DT. And 10% damage resistance. That number above includes everything but a sneak attack crit and Psycho (Psycho really wouldn't matter), and if it were on Very Easy, it would be multiplied x2, which would do the job. If you had played on Very Hard, you'd only deal 317 damage with such a shot.

Where is duh missing mathz?

Winning!!
