ElderScrolls novel. (Made by me)

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 9:30 am

Ive just had a lot of inspiration to create a novel for my character in morrowind. I've written a few Elderscrolls short stories that weren't half bad. And so i thought " Why not make a novel". Obviously it would take some time but im really into it.
Ive just started a new game in the last few hours and im doing the roleplay really well. Im a Fairly young but wise bosmer. Im taking the whole Experience well but since i dont care for socialising, i have geared up and headed into the wilderness. probably will end up settling in one of the coastal/ shack villages.

The main plot will be a little more exiting. But thats just the lead in. And Besides thats what the next two or three days will be....Planing.

What do you think. I'll even accept some ideas if you have any. Ohh btw its at the same time period as the actual game.

[EDIT] opps. Sorry wrong section. If it can be moved, id be greatfull

Sure, why not? Writing is always fun. Just try to make sure you're a bit more careful with your spelling and grammar in the novel than in your posts. It's distracting to be reading a book and read "exiting" instead of "exciting", suggesting someone is leaving when really they are getting excited, for example.

Writing a novel takes an ungodly amount of dedication and time. The fact that you already have the universe and lore made, and the fact that you wont need to rewrite should make it easier on you, though. I look forward to seeing it :D

Exacty what Ascended Sleeper said. It took me a year and a half to write my Morrowind novel "Heir to the Lokken Kingdom" based on the characters of the great modder Emma, which is set after the fall of Dagoth Ur and just before the Oblivion crisis. I am near completion of Book II to Heir and that took even longer. The thing about writing for an established universe is the trying to keep the verbiage and language uniform. Also dialogue, which is a bear when you have a room full of characters with something to say, sing, cry, or shout. But I love reading the short stories and works of those that love the Elderscrolls, even if I was "meh" about the official novels.

Go for it mate. I've been working on a ES novel for almost a year now, about a war between the Morag Tong and the Dark Brotherhood shortly after the Oblvion Crisis. It is hard at times, especially when you re-read chapters and end up changing lots of things, but sometimes you get magical waves of inspiration and you rattle off 20 pages before you know it :-)
