So he went to the first men, and whispered to them secrets, and offered them more if they did his bidding. The first men who followed him became elves, and joined their elvish siblings in the great war against Shor. Shor noticed his army was betraying him, and stopped Herma-Mora by stuffing his mouth with lies. When Herma-Mora opened his mouth to speak the lies came out instead of his truths. Many elves left to join Shor, believing that if Herma-Mora tells lies now, he might've lied to them all along. Realizing what he was saying, Herma-Mora retreated before he could embarrass himself further. Sadly, the damage was done, and Shor fell in battle.
Many years later, Herma-Mora regained his composure and went down to Skyrim. Knowing that man no longer trusted him due to their knowledge of his seductions, he took on the form of a old man and wandered the forest. It was the time of Ysgramor, the time when Falmer waged war against Nord for the first time and when men worshipped Alduin. He came up to Ysgramor and told him what the Falmer were planning and gave him advice for tactics and strategy. He offered more advice if Ysgramor would allow him influence. Ysgramor accepted and slowly became more and more corrupted, until he turned into a Falmer! He realized who the stranger was and grabbed him by the neck, saying "Old man of the forest, you are Herma-Mora, for you make men elves with your secrets!" Herma-Mora revealed his true self and laughed. "I respect those wise enough to catch onto my trickery, and I offer you a boon." He gave Ysgramor a book with three pages. One was written in blood, one was written in darkness and one was written in light. Ysgramor threw it away, saying "I am wise to your ways, and if I accept this book I can never be a Nord again." Herma-Mora laughed again. "I truly do respect your cunning, and shall now make you a Nord again." Ysgramor became a Nord once more, and Herma-Mora returned to the forest.
Many times later did Herma-Mora meet Ysgramor, always trying to trick him. Ysgramor was smart enough to see through his trickery, and Herma-Mora always laughed. It is said that when Shor plucked Ysgramor and bought him to Sovngarde, Herma-Mora was there to have one last meeting with his friend and rival. Herma-Mora always respected Ysgramor, his greatest rival, and it is said that he wanders the earth on the date of his first meeting with him. Those brave enough to face a devil and wise enough to see through his trickery can meet him on the 5th of First Seed.
