custom classes - how are you morrowinding today?

skyrim fatigue has set in, so it's back to vvardenfel. this time around i'm going to try some things i've never tried before.

imperial male

sign = the lady

stealth

agility
willpower

hand to hand
unarmoured
restoration
security
acrobatics

sneak
athletics
marksman
mercentile
speechcraft

he's called Chaki Jan
i have some rules set out to make it even more interesting. he can only use the skills listed. he's only allowed to wear trousers. the only weapons he can use besides his fists are of the thrown variety. restoration has been RP'd as a form of meditation. no enchantments EVER! only allowed to use stock potions. all MQ's to be completed.

i use a selection of mods but the most prevailant in this particular build are GCD, dodge mod, MCA and creatures. Will it be tough? one on one should be ok due to knock outs, but when the big packs of enemies start to show up i'm expecting it to get interesting. at the moment i'm finishing off all there is in seyda neen, so not much challenge just yet.

so what's your build? one of my favourite things about morrowind was experimenting with the character creation, and i'm interested in other peoples ideas

I'm more of a planner than a player personally, so I built a http://morrowind.inventivegamer.com/tools/chargen/ to avoid all that in-game clicking. It might help you out with your favorite thing in Morrowind, as you put it. And I have to agree, planning the characters, their backstories and their limitations is one of my favorite things to do there, too, but only because I don't have any time for actually playing the game.

*sigh*

One day, though...

Dunmer Male
Sign: Apprentice
Magic
Strength and Intelligence

Majors:
Sneak
Blade
Alteration
Destruction
Medium Armour

Minors:
Speechcraft
Restoration
Mysticism
Athletics
Enchant

"Tactician" class. The idea is use sneak to scout the enemy, before hitting them with ranged destruction, then supplement close-combat ability with restoration and alteration. Apprentice picked both for the magicka increase, and to add a weakness to the character, making gameplay more interesting. I also use GCD

Garan:
Dunmer male
Sign: The Mage
Magic
Strength and Willpower
Majors:
Long blade
Destruction
Alteration
Heavy Armor
Mysticism

Minors:
Athletics
Acrobatics
Alchemy
Block
Conjuration

"Combat Caster". Primarily a mage, but designed to take hits as well as deal them out. Just beat the MQ with this, and seemed to work out well.

I've always wanted to do an unarmed char, but I just haven't gotten around to it. atm I'm playing:

Endaril Dawnhold
War-Wizard

Major: Destruction, Alteration, Conjuration, Enchant, Heavy Armour
Minor: Mysticism, Illusion, Restoration, Blunt Weapon, Athletics

Basically just a heavy armoured wizard who's been my main for all 3 TES games I've played. Summons weapons and creatures, then blows everything up with fireballs and lightning strikes. He uses his enchanted armour and magical shields to protect himself. Illusion, Mysticism, Restoration and his ebony staff are used too, but no where near as much as his major skills. A really fun all round caster.

Nitron, Dunmer Male
Warlock, Magic Specialist
Birth Sign: Atronach
Favored Attributes: Willpower, Intelligence

Major Skills: Long Blade, Light Armor, Destruction, Conjuration, Restoration.
Minor Skills: Marksman, Alchemy, Alteration, Mysticism, Enchant.

Using Conjuration to summon Bound weapons and armor, and Ancestor Ghosts to fuel my Magicka until I can get it high enough to summon more powerful undead and Daedra. Destruction and Bows to target enemies at long range, and swords or touch spells for melee range. Mysticism for Soul Trapping and Mark/Recall/Intervention.

http://morrowind.inventivegamer.com/tools/chargen/?character=2,2,2,2,2,3,16,14,13,18,12,10,17,15,25,26:
Male Breton

Birthsign: Mage

Specialization: Magic

Favored attributes: Intelligence, Willpower

Major skills: Restoration, Conjuration, Illusion, Unarmored, Alteration

Minor skills: Enchant, Alchemy, Mysticism, Mercantile, Speechcraft

Philosopher class. I pretend I am a very spiritual character who seeks the meaning of life. For that, he uses mostly his intuition and almost never uses a direct approach to his objectives. When in combat, for example, he neither uses weapons or destruction spells. He uses every other resources he can find.
It's a nice way to force me use the mechanics of Morrowind I tend to forget when playing more standard characters, such as spells of detecting, absorbing, reflecting, illusion, etc. It also gives me a challenge!

I could see this character being a very big user of Illusion's spells such as command, demoralize, chameleon, invisibility, and paralyze. Alteration would help with defense, and if you get your Mysticism high enough, it has good combat spells, but they are expensive. Restoration gives you fortification (for fighting/running away).

Return to III - Morrowind
