Need Help Finding Mods... Again...

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 9:53 pm

Long story... I uninstalled Morrowind and had all my files on a Flash Drive cause I was planning to re-install my games on a new Computer. Decided not to get the new Computer cause just cannot get the time to go and buy it (I am still hoping to get it some-day) and well.. Someone in my house-hold thought it would've been funny to use my Flash Drive and turn it into an Xbox 360 Memory Unit, which cleared the Drive's memory.. So.. Yeah.. I lost the majority of my mods. I still have a lot of them on a CD (Friend of mine burned the mods for me when I bought Morrowind for the computer long time ago).. Problem is, I lost a lot of bigger stuff that I cannot get on my computer (Dial-Up) so I wont bother them again.. Plus they were a bit anti-lore and my game works way much better now without them.

Anyways.. I am looking for mods, small ones that are under 1MB, that adds new creatures/enemies. I am also looking for Dungeon Mods that adds huge system of dungeons (Some Nordic up in Solstheim and others Daedric/Tombish in Vvardenfell) and that these dungeons are easy to get to and doesn't take much to travel to find them. Also, I do not want Dungeon Mods that pretty much just copy enemies already in game and gave them a new name then put them in a new leveled list. I kinda don't like this.

Also, I am looking for a few mods that I liked a lot but cannot find again. One was a Protective Guard Mod that makes all Guards attack any NPCs attacking you, instead of just watching the fight. I am also trying to re-find this one updater thing that did a CRAP load of stuff to Morrowind, like casting spells with your weapon out, and updating the combat so nothing can't "miss" anymore.

Can anybody help me out?

1MB is really small my friend. I have the same speeds as you and I still got the MGSO, Nehrim, Artkwend, and many other HUGE mods. TR as well. Anything smaller than 400MB takes less than an hour with my good ole download accelerator. How many kb/sec do you get on average? I believe that one "thing" you are speaking of is http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=19510. (Morrowind Code Patch)

MCP, yep. and About 2-5KBs per second.... Dial-Up svcks...

~Edit~

Piratelord's (About 40MBs) Creature Mod will take around 4-5hours on this computer.

I think there are two mods - one by Fliggerty IIRC and one by Abot - that change guards' protectiveness. One of those might be what you're thinking of.

The "can't miss" attacks might be "Gratuitous Violence". There's an active thread atm.

Dial-up speed is a pita. Can only suggest to look for an alternative way to d/l. Do you have a laptop with wi-fi. Your public library or commercial spot might offer faster connections, letting you d/l and then copy to a flash drive sorry, don't know if that's feasible but think about it. Considering the posts about the changes coming to Planet Elder Scrolls (PES), you may want to bite the bullet regardless of connection speed to get mods that interest you as a 'just in case' scenario. And you might be able to find the names of the mods you used by looking at the morrwoind.ini file if you backed that up for some reason. They're listed in there as I recall.

Good luck

I normally do the real big ones at the library. Anything smaller than 5MB-10MB is agree-able enough to DL on Dial-Up.

I could upload a version of Creatures that does not include the splash screens. That'll reduce it by a few meg.
But really, any mod that adds new models or textures is always going to be a large download. Creatures is as optimised as possible to reduce download size. Unpacked it's 119meg, 7zipped it's 37meg. The splashscreens are 12 meg unpacked.

Hmm, have you tried using a Recover utility on your hard drive where the files were originally stored or even on the flash drive? Sometimes you can get most or all of your lost items as long as noone's done a low-level reformat.

If you are willing, you can upload a version without the splash-screens but that is totally up to you. I don't wish to waste your time on something so small.

~Edit~

Also, you could remove a few unwanted creatures within your mod, if you truly wish to help me out.

Quick Question. Are there any Mods that updates the Draugr? I've updated the Draugr by making more of them, like in Skyrim, but I can't create new meshes/textures/animations/etc.. Don't have the tools.

I use http://arcimaestroantares.webs.com/Miei%20Mods/Draugr%20Deathlord.JPG that is part of a larger undead mod.

Can you link the mod, and not just a picture?

Thx ya for all the help so far. Got a lot done but still looking for a few more creatures that I remembered having.. I think they were from GIANTS which I refuse to get again due to the majority of crap in GIANTS I don't need. The few I remember from GIANTS I want to get back would be Wraiths and Dragonlings.

Also, Where can I find Abot's Waterlife or something like that? That was a personally favorite of mine.

~Edit~

I was thinking.. Is there any mods that gives the Liches of Morrowind a make-over and make them look like Oblivion's Liches?

hmm...i usually get 15-50kb/sec. I use an accelerator and get around 80-140kb/sec. Wish I had something better than DAP. :ermm:

Good thing to do with a SLOW connestion is to get the bigger things you'd like overnight. Worked for me while getting MGSO.

Over-Night deals normally don't work. Idky but lately my downloading hadn't work too well and it'll stop process in the middle of the download and I'll just get a corrupted RAR/ZIP/etc file that never works.
