Those damn Ghouls! >:( (Spoilers)

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 11:04 am

GOD I hate those damn Ghouls! I'm doing the Tenpenny Tower quest and FINALLY managed to convince everyone in the tower to let the Ghouls move in. I felt sorry for them, I can't stand the discrimination they face. I mean, they've lived THROUGH THE WAR!!! They're like freaking veterans, they're people too and should be treated as such!

But now I HATE THEM. I wanted equality in Tenpenny Tower. I was walking around talking to everyone seeing that they all loved their new neighbors, they shared stories and drank together! I thought "Wow, this is what the world should be! Everyone being friends!" but I go up to Tenpenny's suite to get his opinion on the new neighbors AND ROY PHILLIPS KILLED HIM.

WHAT THE [censored]!?!?!?! I busted my freaking ass trying to get those bigot [censored]s to let them in! I mean, poor them they probably live really hard lives! Then I get them in and he says Tenpenny had a little "accident" when they were arguing! WHAT THE FREAKING HELL MAN!?!?! UGHHHH.

NOW, before you think this is a complaint, [censored]y thread. Here's the problem.

He killed Tenpenny BEFORE I finished the Power of Atom quest. I wasn't planning on blowing up Megaton but still....what if I did? What would I do? Tenpenny is dead....D;

If you're talking about sneaking them in, I didn't do that. I went for the Diplomatic solution. I wanted them to live in harmony and HE [censored] KILLS ALLISTAIR! Allistair was my only link to The Sunders. D;

BTW, The Sunders is the name of post-apocalyptic UK. (In my book.... Literally I wrote a story that died. :()

Tenpenny and Roy are just as bad as each other in my opinoin but sounds like if you want to finish the Power Of The Atom quest. you will have to reload.

At least you have the Ghoul Mask which in my opinion is the most useful item in the game.

This is why you don't side with the Ghouls. Roy is half-way to becoming feral as it is, and his actions after his little "group" are peacefully let into the Tower just prove why it was a good idea on Tenpenny's part to keep them out in the first place.

Damn zombies. :dry:

Definitely one of my favorite quests in the game. Truly, Bethesda overcame itself when it against odds involved a twist in a plot.
Personally I never even start the quest, I pickpocket explosives to Roy and then proceed the massacre the rest of his misfits. Then just bring the good news to Gustavo :D

I only help Ghouls for the Ghoul Mask which really is the most helpful item in the game. I also feel bad for them all the time. And what do you mean 'kill everyone in the tower'? I made the diplomatic solution purposefully so I won't have to kill ANYONE! Can't we all get along!?!? D:

Ghoul mask is a temporary solution.
You know what will fix the ghoul problem once and for all?

It begins with "F" and ends with "EV Curling-13".

Speaking of FEV, now that I have Broken Steel installed, what happens when I install the FEV, then wake up 2 weeks later? Will the wasteland finally be cleansed!?!? :D

Unfortunately, no. Modified FEV will be a dud and while it kills many, it doesn't kill everyone. As far as we know. The good thing is is that we don't know it will ever go away, which was Eden's main difference to Richardson's strain which would die out in two weeks.
Eden's strain directly spares pure humans unlike the old Curling-13 which unconditionally killed those not inoculated. That said like Eden promises "the longer it runs the cleaner the world becomes". It may take decades, even centuries but as long as no antidote arrives the FEV will continue picking off people around the world.

Repeat after me: (Non-feral) Ghouls are people, too. Good people, much better people than the stuck up fleshy denziens of Tenpenny Tower.

Meh. I beg to differ. Roy and Allistair are the same person, just different appearances. I'd side with TPT if the Ghoul Mask werent a reward. I love ghouls dont get me wrong, but no matter what you do the quest is a real http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/KickTheDog situation. Only the leaders are dikes, the rest are just trying to survive.

I usually ignore the entire quest but it's my favorite quest of them all because of the twist. The first time I did it, I went the diplomatic route and was floored when I came back to trade a few days later. It took a few weeks before I opened that storage room door and when I did, my heart sank. I was so pissed that I marched straight to Roy and put a bullet in his brain.

In my next game, I decided I would side with Roy just to see what happened. Taking over the tower for the first time ranks up there in my top 3 game moments. It was pure psycho awesomeness and I loved every second.

I have never and will never side with the humans. I cannot bring myself to harm a hair on that sweet Bessie's head. Yes, Roy is just as much of a dike as Tenpenny is, but I can't help but like him.

So basically your character enabled the murder of all those people, including Daring Herbert Dashwood, in the Tower.

Just goes to show "no good deed goes unpunished" :)

Eh, I just kill Tenpenny, let Roy assume control, kill Roy, and in my head assert myself as 'Lord of Tenpenny Tower'.
