I just downloaded the Vista compatible Fallout 1 from Good Old Games.com and it works great, no black screen glitch or any other problems. However it's very hard to look at on a 22 inch monitor in glorious 640X480 rez. Does anyone know if there's a way to make it run in a window?

No,, but IIRC Nma have a high res patch you can try.
just google no mutants allowed.
