Arthur felt like he had been walking for hours and his mouth was as dry as the sand surrounding him. He had been stuck here since he had fallen asleep in the car on the way to his lacrosse game. He didn’t know how he had got here, but he knew exactly where he was. He shook his head wondering how many times he had traveled this route as his character, striding over the cracked highway effortlessly. Earlier today he had woken up naked, with no idea where he was with a terrible case of dry mouth along with his stomach growling in complaint.

Until he had seen a sign that read Goodsprings twenty miles north he had been completely lost. However now that he had a good idea where he was he knew that he should be able to make it to a place with some semblance of civilization. On the unfortunate side that was hours ago and he knew that he couldn’t be within ten miles of Goodsprings, and even worse he knew that unless he found water soon he would be dead before the next day. Once again he asked himself how did I get here? He remembered being on the way to the championship game and arguing with his best friend about the best way to break the other teams offense when suddenly there was a light and the next thing he knew was that he was naked in the desert.

These thoughts had been going through his head all day, and whenever he got to the end of them he just started to go over them again. Then on the horizon he thought he saw a speck moving in the distance, no wait that is someone! He thought excitedly as a brahmin caravan moved into sight. He heard sudden conversation among the people of the caravan, then the unmistakable sound of a gun being cocked. He quickly threw his hands into the air and yelled

“I’m unarmed” the reply that he got was a sarcastic one said in a rough feminine voice.

“Really you don’t say, we hadn’t noticed. Now go tell your raider friends that we aren’t stupid enough to fall for this old trick, or better yet why don’t I just send them the message!” the speaker was a short muscular blonde women wearing leather armor and carrying a hunting rifle, which happened to be pointed directly at his head. But I don’t want to die! He thought desperately, suddenly he was overwhelmed by the events of the day. A dam broke somewhere inside him and he fell to his knees sobbing.

“Hell's Bells Karin, you made the kid cry, I doubt that he’s over sixteen!” yelled a man who came walking up to him from outside of his now limited field of vision. The man was dressed in a long flowing brown leather duster and was wearing a black cowboy hat that obscured most of his face. What it didn’t cover was a rangy brown beard that covered most of his chin along with a hard jaw line. At his waist he wore a .44 magnum and around his neck hung a small pendant, the women just snorted and said.

“I don’t care Harry; why else would he be out here in the middle of nowhere naked.” Arthur was starting to gain hope that he would live yet, even if for only for another few minutes.

“Did you ever stop to consider that he might have been robbed, or maybe something else? I mean with all that we’ve been through this really isn’t all that uncommon, now is it” the blonde women sighed and said

“I hate it when you do that Dresden, that and the stupid mystic crap.” Harry shrugged off her criticism like a duck does water then he helped Arthur to his feet and asked.

“So what happened to you kid, no offense but you look like hell?” Arthur shook his head, then shrugged and said sadly.

“I still have no idea, one minute I was driving my car with my friend on the way to a lacrosse game and then I ended up in the desert naked.” Harry and Murphy exchanged glances then Murphy sighed and said.

“Oh man, naked and crazy Molly’s going to love this guy!”
