FOMM not working (help!)

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 10:26 am

Okay so last night, I was going to close my laptop to move it upstairs but forgot that I still had FOMM running. While attempting to move it, the power cable came out the side of my laptop and shut it off.

When I go to turn my laptop back on, and pull up Fallout Mod Manager, I get "FOMM has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem" before disappearing. Reinstalling it didn't work. And I honestly don't have a clue on what to do to fix this.

So any help would be appreciated.

Deleting any registry entries that may have been left over from the installation would help. I don't know what the specific keys are, but doing a search for "fallout," "fomm," or anything similar in regedit should help. Also try deleting any recent Windows restore points, error logs, and/or old prefetch data. Also make sure that the FOMM folder and everything in it was removed when you uninstalled it.

It's not a solution, but consider using BAIN in Wrye Flash instead. I understand if you have converted all your mods to FOMOD packages that you'd want to stick with FOMM, though.
