Playing a hardcoe, very hard mode, laser build without the use of the tesla cannon?

Way more than you probably think...

On both my energy weapons characters I've played that build exclusively.
I've never used the Tesla Cannon beyond 'for kicks and giggles', I always take Very Hard with hardcoe Mode cause nothing else is challenging, and I dislike the slow plasma weapons.
