Help on Very Hard.

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 1:34 pm

I am at level 7 now, and am focusing primarily on Energy Weapons. My backup weaponry is guns, but I am low enough now to decide whether to change it. I was thinking explosives since I do not have enough caps or resources to fuel my guns ammo/repairs. Will grabbing explosives be a good idea? Demolitions Expert seems like a good perk to have on Very Hard.

Very hard isnt tough if you can figure out how to use your weapons. I have been playing on very hard and hardcoe since my second playthrough. Listen, i recomend scavenging everything you can find, and scout nearby areas, use all the weapons and ammo u can find instead of selling it (except for now) unless ur skill with them isnt that good, and yes demolition expert is good. I got it. You should look for whatever ways you can to get caps, get some companions or NCR radio so you can get supplies or/and followers from them to help you.

Explosives cost ALOT. I wouldnt recomend using only explosives, but they are kinda the best weapons in the game if you ask me. Only use found explosives.

Explosives? Nah. They're even more expensive to deal with.

If it's a money issue, go with melee weapons.

personally, i wouldn't get explosives or guns with an energy build.

i'd worry about upping the critical %'s and damage output.

as well, perks that make it easier at the workbench.

when i specialize with energy i go all-in, lol.

I would actually invest in sneak if you're really having problems. Stealth is kinda overpowered in this game imo, especially with a long-range weapons because you can pretty much rain death with impunity if you have a high sneak and a hunting rifle w/ scope. The AI has no idea how to respond to a snipers, so large military bases (Cottonwod Cove in particular) can essentially become giant turkey shoots thanks to sneak attack criticals. Plus, you kill enemies often times in one or two hits, which saves a lot of ammo over time. As long as you do some proper reconnaissance and be patient, you should be able to get the drop on your enemies most of the time no matter what weapon you're using.
