For example: does each Kalpa begin with a new Convention? Or did Convention occur at the beginning of the...first (for lack of a better word) Kalpa? Magnus has always struck me as something of an absolute, I find it hard to imagine his being bound by this cycle, but I have been wrong in the past.
Alduin, I would think, must remain relatively constant in order to devour the world at the end of each iteration. But I have heard that my Lord and Master Peryite might be scheduled to take his place next time around. Do the roles, then, but not the names or identities remain? Each Sphere being stationary, but repeatedly filled by another being? Each God and Prince being shuffled from one position to another?
What about Mehrunes Dagon? The Fights lead me to believe that he has persisted for at least one Kalpa before this one, and has been charged for his sins with the destruction of the excess firmament that he stole while the Leaper Demon. Is he an anomaly? Or one of...more than one beings who retain their function between each round of Awful Fighting?
Speaking of the Awful Fighting, it seems to necessitate that each Kalpa revolve - at least to some degree - around the antipathy between Man and Mer. Lorkhan and Auriel might be replaced by other gods, I suppose, but does their primary duality then remain? The Houses of Ald and Shor, as I presume?
What is the Awful Fighting, anyway? A timeless, spaceless war between the disembodied, mindless essences of humans and elves? How does it end? Or perhaps I should ask how the space and time is found with which to rebuild the world?
And is the Mundus the same? Tamriel, Yokuda, Atmora, Aldmeris, Akavir? I would guess not, but who's to say?
Let us go higher. What about Padomay and Anu? These are the primal forces from which everything that mortals and gods perceive emerges. I must imagine that they remain utterly unchanged from one Kalpa to the next. Possibly along with their souls, Sithis and Anuiel?
