Uh, yeah. This is blatant. The Champion of Cyrodiil mantled Sheogorath. Way of the fourth, steps of the dead.

Well, probably. Considering the nature of Bethesda games, it's possible Sheogorath is someone else who had similar experiences to the CoC, and then went on to do the Shivering Isles questline. That being said, it probably is the CoC.

basically to me it boils down to this.

Your coc may or maynot be sheo.
Bethesdas coc is the sheo.

I believe this is the only time we actually know what became of our previous toon from previous game, and while im proud of where my toon is at, I dont think nethesda will be doing that again, excwpt in skyrim where I hope our pc becomes the new emporer. I believe ull have less people complaining about suddenly becoming an emporer than the most powerful and feared daedra.

yeah i like the idea of the dovahkiin becoming the new emporer. actually one of my hopes for a dlc is being able to go to the IC and the whole dlc would be the ic and the island and maybe lake rumare to and possibly wye that would be awesome. that way they could make the IC look and feel more like a real cityworth being called the IC. they could also make the sewers way better than they were in Oblivion to.
that way in the next game depending on how far into the future they could ether say some thing about how the dovahkiin is the emporer still or there would be a booktalking about how the he saved the world from alduin.

any way back to sheo

I think it would be hard to have a gender and race confused emperor. I think in order for the Dovahkiin to become the emperor, s/he will probably transform into a full-blown Dovah.

Or the Dovahkiin will become Akatosh.

Yeah, with Sheogorath, you have some freedom with appearance since he can basically manifest himself in whatever form he wants. Assuming, of course, that the CoC gained all the perks of being a Daedric Prince.

I disagree.
Nothing is written in stone about this.
The only thing Skyrim Sheogorath gives are vague hints that could be interpreted as that he was in Cyrodiil at the time of the Oblivion crisis.
This could mean any number of things.
It could mean literally, but that doesnt make him the CoC, it could have been anyone who went through that portal.
It could also be less literal, one could say that the god of madness is present in any mortal, and more so undoubtably during those confusing times.

Its fine to speculate that the CoC mantled Sheogorath and undoubtably someone did, but there is no solid proof to claim it as a fact.

The default Oblivion COC is supposed to be an Imperial (like in all TES, an alternate race is optional - Like in Skyrim the storyline is built around a Nord) and the Sheogorath in Skyrim does look like an Imperial race build.

Sheogorath, when the CoC meets him in his palace, looks the same as the Sheogorath you meet in the palace in Skyrim. A slightly different haircut, other pupils and different lighting circumstances is the only difference IMO.

Well yeah, after her briasts fell off and she started looking like an old man, the CoC just had to change a few things. Those cat-eye pupils just weren't working with her pelinal-esque homicidal rages. Not to mention that she stopped worrying about combing her hair after it went all grey and she had that accident with the shaver.

The CoC is no more Sheogorath than the Arch-Mage of the Mages Guild, the leader of the Knights of the Nine, the Grand Champion of the Arena and the Grey Fox.

Sheogorath was mantled by either the CoC, Jauffre or Baurus. They were there when Aka banished Dagon. Ocato doesn't count because we know he survived to lead the Empire and all that. Jauffre would have no reason to investigate strange doors. Baurus becoming Sheo is possible but unlikely, so yes, it was the CoC who mantled him.

A whole city was there when Akatosh banished Dagon.

Both Jauffre and Baurus could easily be dead by then.

Someone mantled. Just like someone stopped Mannimarco and replaced Traven. Whether or not those are the same people as the ones(s) who became the Listener, Grey Fox, Fighter's Guild Master and Shezzarine/Pelinal Reborn is up to you. either way, it all happened to someone historically.
