Acciidentally sold unique items

Post » Fri Nov 13, 2009 9:32 pm

I think I accidentally sold the Ring of Rumare and the Mundane Ring - anyway, they are not in my inventory and I went to all the houses I bought and looked in the "special chest where I offload artifacts" in each place, can't find them.

1) Is there a way to locate an item in the game world if I have the item code? A cheat that will take me to the location?
2) If I use Player.AddItem to add a unique item, will it make a copy of the item? Or will it just move the unique item to me?

Thanks! I've only lost these two.

If you sold the items then they aren't in the game world any more, so you can't move to them. You can give yourself new ones however with player.additem, like you said. Just look up the items codes on the UESP and you'll be good to go.

If you sold it recently, the shopkeeper will still have it in stock. If you can find whoever you sold it to, you can buy it back.

Those solutions are the only ones I can think of as well. However I think you can still get the Mundane Ring through random loot even after you have 1 copy.

Well let me ask you this for the sake if argument. Let's say I didn't sell them but put them in a perma container. What utility even outside the game would let
Me find it ?

Thanks for the answers tho. I'll use additem

Nothing will let you find your previous ring. The ring isn't a persistent reference and the game doesn't keep track of it that way. In this case, you're only way of getting a new one is to either use additem, or find one again in random loot.

You might want to check, to be sure you're not just seeing this bug, where items can sometimes "disappear" from containers, but are really still there:

The Mundane Ring isn't a unique - I have more than one character who has more than one (in one case three of them). It will show up again in random loot. I think it's also possible to collect more than one in the same trip to Mankur's Paradise if Raven gets respawned a few times during the battle.

The Jewel of the Rumare is a unique quest-generated item, but its attributes aren't major, and other special-use rings would easily substitute. I tend to keep that on display at Rosethorn Hall, rather than ever use it!

This is a good point. Especially since ring slots are limited to two, and water-breathing for casting and enchanting is available at Apprentice level. My mages typically enchant water breathing, water walking, and fortify sneak (Boots of the Tiger, Sneak Blue Suede Shoes) on three different pairs of shoes, since you wouldn't really need two of these effects at the same time.

As mentioned the Ring of Rumare is unique. Once you lose it, it's lost. As for the Mundane Ring, you can also go see Earil at Earil's Mysteries in New Sheoth, Shivering Isles with your mercantile skill at 50 or higher. He sells enchanted jewelry that restocks after being out of the area for 72 73 game hours.
