What Do Your Characters Have on Their To-Do List?

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 10:45 am

I was wondering if you have mental (or even actual) to-do lists for your characters. I usually play a character who has some relatively small aims and tendencies; I won't do everything in the game world, but just a small bit I feel is suitable for that particular character. I.e. an evil mage might join the Telvanni, crush the opposing Great Houses and Mages Guild, and even become an outlaw necromancer. There's also this thief character I'm playing whose goal is to become the Master Thief of the Guild and gentleman-thiefishly rob others only off their most valuable and/or best protected single object, just to show that he can. He leaves a Heather at the crime scene as a visiting card.

For characters like these, I usually keep track what they should do next. For example, with my namesake character, with whom I have played through more factions and overally done more than with my other characters, I still have at least these things to do:

- Acquire Stormkiss; I love that quest! Although I don't think it's technically even a quest.
- Vampire spoiler:
Spoiler
Become an Aundae Clan vampire. I'd need to get rid of my disease resistances at first, though. Later, possibly, search for a cure.
- Try out a Golden Saint statue garden outside Tel Uvirith. That is, make them follow me to my yard and then Drain their Speed so that they hopefully get permanently stuck as statues. Not my idea though; read about it here.
- MQ spoiler:
Spoiler
Try getting the right-handed Wraithguard even though I already have the left-handed one. I think my max HP currently isn't high enough for that, though. Or it might otherwise not be possible, dunno.
- Collect all the artifacts listed by the artifact books. Also as many other unique or rare items as I can get. Also sell everything vendible to Mournhold Museum and steal them back without getting caught...
- Finish the Mainland Telvanni quests in Tamriel Rebuilt. Although I might've done as much as there is to do so far, not sure though.
- Find and play some other good Telvanni content mods (other than The Rise of House Telvanni and Tamriel Rebuilt -- any recommendations?)
- Basically make myself and all the game world think that I'm the greatest Telvanni (and, in smaller scale, person, or Divine) that ever lived!

I ended up posting this in general section; I hope the topic won't become too messy with all the spoiler tags.

Well in Morrowind my current character Deekus, has a few things I have planed for him to do, even if he does not yet realize it.

- Become head of House Hlaalu.

- Increase his book collection.

- Fulfill the prophecy of the Nerevarine, which he doesn't know he is yet.

- Become an assassin for the Morag Tong.

Interesting thread
Thanks; I'm so lazy playing the game right now that I cannot go to the What Did You to Today thread very often. So thought about making a thread of the future plans instead.

Also,

- Completing all the daedric quests
this is on Nelacayne's list as well.

- Meet up with various memorable characters and try to catch them in Epic Poses.
...and I definitely see what you did there!

Find some damn box I keep hearing about.
Is it your first time ever doing it? No fear, because... you'll never find it! MWAHAHAHA!

Elathas goal is to wipe out all of the bandits on Vvardenfell.
And my Argonian, Shade-in-Shadow, is not only a thief and a Hlaalu, but also secretly a Twin Lamp in the making. His true goal is to free all the slaves.

Temple spoilers:
Spoiler
Elvar Saryoni, on the other hand (Temple Patriarch; the real Saryoni who was framed and exiled by his brother Thorel who then e.g. took Saryoni's Sermons under his name, etc.), still needs to do all the Temple stuff in the Mainland. And get the last Vvardenfell Temple lost artifact from inside Dagoth Ur itself... ugh. Some other minor things to do with this guy also. He's currently in mourning (meaning I haven't played him in ages) since he has helped Almalexia around a bit and come to conclusion that Almalexia isn't mentally well. He's in the secluded cabin where the Saryoni's Sermons Manuscript can be found. I've also moved an NPC there to "guard" the spot. (Killed the original hermit there since I roleplayed that she was corrupt with Thorel.)

An easy question.

I wish to collect all of the books, scrolls, other various bits of lit' and create a grand ol' Library of Vvardenfell. Filled to the brim with unheard stories and unseen magics, I could whittle my day away, simply 'putting' around and reading my books.

...Of course, I like (and tend) to do this in every ES game that I play, being the lore-enraptured nerd that I undoubtedly am.

Haha, cool! I'm interested though... where do you put your library? Out in the open somewhere, or a cave, an empty building? Where's enough room?

Do all Redoran quests (including many added by mods).
Become head of Fighter's Guild.
Do main quest with Darknut's GDR.
Do all Bloodmoon quests (plus many mods added to this region).
Hopefully don't get too distracted along the way.
Retire.

At the current rate I'm going, this will take me at least a year.

Collect every "misc" bottle I can find, then pile them up on a neat little stack outside my home. Kills FPS after the first 250 or so, but everyone probably thinks the place houses a no-good drunkard...

... or is a local bottle recycling center...

- Find a way to get more mana

Not story spoilers but suggestions to get more magicka follow.
Spoiler
Hmm, what kind of way? Changing the birthsign to Atronach via console (only if on PC)? Abusing Alchemy and brewing Fortify Magicka potions? Constant Effect Fortify Magicka item? Or just get some serious level-up points to Intelligence (that is, only train (your major and minor) skills it governs: Alchemy, Conjuration, Enchant, and Security.

Yes to increase and boost the total pool of mana I'm having. But I'm having bit problems, can't really find much ingredients for creating mana potions trough alchemy. I could potions, but meh what's the fun in that?. I also have no idea how to enchant, so I'm hoping that I find some items that effect on magicka. As for changing my birthsign which is "The Lady" I pick that so I'd have better Endurance & more health that way. I wouldn't want to change it trough console because it's seems kind of cheating to me. This is my first mage character by the way.

There are several mods to make a bound Golden saint, I could recommend a few if you want.

Also for my character she is just waiting for the mainland to be opened up or for a ship to skyrim or cyrodiil to come to Morrowind

aka waiting for P:C, SHOTN and TR to get done

- Collect all The Lessons. This is a lot of fun. I get to raid every tomb I find and it's how I came across the Staff of Hasedoki.
- Move into a bigger house.
- Kill the war-loving Erabenimsun.
- Visit a particular Dwemer ruin as requested by Antabolis.
- Join the Temple.
- Gain a complete set of Indoril armor.

Nah, I'd rather first try the Drain Speed method and see if it will work permanently. Thanks anyway! :) I will come back to you if I need those recommendations. I'm not sure when I will try this statue garden thingy - probably somewhere in 2014 or so.

Yes, Elvar's doing that as well. So far he has something like 4 of them. D:

I haven't counted mine yet, still I think I have around 6. Bought 3 of them from a priest in Ald-ruhn.

I would just wanna keep as many as the peaceful civilians alive as much as possible. Because the way I see it is that the more people arouind, the more complete the towns, cities, and landscapses are. Such as all the roles being taken care of. I know certain factions want you to make certain dents in the population getting rid of people here and there but if I had to play with a certain agenda, then keeping them alive would be the most importanat thing for me to do.

Been playing for almost ten years with several epic legendary mages and I still want to do the following:
  • get Eltonbrand
  • get all the artifacts for the museum
  • do all daedric quest
  • play as a vampire
  • find mudcrab merchant
  • find Maiq the Liar one more time (i did it once years ago)
  • beat the main quest with the "other" wraithguard
  • find all the propylon indexes
Im sure there are other things that I can't think of now, but that's my to-do list
