Why do we need guns? One of the reasons I like TES is because there are no guns. Not to mention isn't it set in the Medieval times when they didn't have guns?

The middle ages had guns... at least the later part, when full plate armour came into use and things like that often associated with fantasy. Not necessarily very good guns, but they were there. (Also, the middle ages didn't have magic and elves things like that. There are plenty of good reasons to argue against guns in the Elder Scrolls games, but "the middle ages didn't have them" isn't one. )

The Middle ages emulated magic with chemicals... Destruction Magic is TES's Universe answer to gunpowder in RL. kinda like parallel evolution in technologies. So, in a sense, there are already "guns" in TES, in the form of weapons enchanted to fire projectiles at range and explosives in the form of enchanted projectiles. Heck spellcasters can be considered walking "guns" in that regard. It is assumed that people gravitate to the more energy efficient methods when it comes to what technologies are learned. Maybe for them it might be easier to teach people to focus their magicka, then point and "shoot" spells than to invent a weapon, invent a projectile, invent a compatible propellant, invent a targeting system, then train the use of said equipment, albeit the Dwemer were probably the closest to devote efforts into researching them.

I would find it funny though, if it turns out to be a conspiracy on the part of spellcasting organizations to purge any research on such inelegant technologies...

I love to watch people try to convince other people that there's something "missing" in their favorite game. :)

I think TES is missing warp drive. We should be able to visit the other planets in starships. And meet (and fight) alien races. Not to mention have powered armor, energy weapons, and nukes. And I want sharks with frickin laser beams attached to their heads!

...and Chuck Norris to fight them all off with his bare hands.

Guns in a a Tes game ?

All is possible behind an idea IF this is logical and consistent -and related to other game aspects.

Perhaps a possible future annihilation of magic would be a good excuse for that, who knows.

But then it wouldn't be Tes anymore for a large amount of players/fans,bear that in mind.

 Umm, I thought the Tamriel Immersion Experience mod already included fighters. Or does 'TIE' stand for something else? (Tamrielic Interception and Engagement? Twin Ion Engine?) Ooh, maybe we can find out that Masser and Secunda aren't really moons; they're space stations!
