Not a spoiler but request for information

Hi, I've been playing Bethesda games since Morrowind. I loved Fallout 3. I do remember the controversy about the original ending to the game ... vaguely... pardon the vaguely.... senior moment.

I know the company came out with Broken Steel since I've played it. I've got a 100% play through of Fallout 3 completed.

What I was wondering is if anyone remembers approximately what percentage of people hated the original ending of the game vs. people who liked the original ending of the game?

I don't want to open any old wounds. Just would like some information that isn't buried on like page 50 of a google search.

Thanx.

I don't think there's any way to accurately gauge that percentage. You could look at polls or topics about this, but the large majority of people who played Fallout 3 probably never posted on the internet about it, and as with any time there is cause to complain about something, the complainers are going to be a lot more vocal than the people who were satisfied.

I wasn't happy with the endings, but they were better than no ending at all. The ending was nothing like the endings of the orginal Fallout games. All we got with Fallout 3 was: "s/he was good/bad but in the end was good/bad, blah blah blah. No information about the people and places that we encountered in the game. The only unique one was if you put the FEV into project purity which turned DC "into a graveyard."

That is the reason why it was so easy to just remove the ending is cause there was nothing really there, not like with the orginal Fallouts and New Vegas. Still I wish they had kept it cause Broken Steel completely breaks the game.

But to just answer the question. No I wasn't happy with the ending of Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 was the first Fallout game I played and I thought the ending was a load of crock tbh, BS made it worse.

Ending was good if you were Good. Follow the footsteps of the Father, ya know? Other than that, there wasn't much to it so BS was revered as the best DLC evars.

What I don't like about the ending is that God doesn't come down, judge all the people for ruining Earth, and spit on their faces before they incinerate in his presence from their own sin.

At first, I hated it.... I screamed at the screen. But then after a couple of plays of Broken Steel, I think that it was alright. I have to work hard not to become a walking god of destruction.

Thanks. That's what I thought. Still marketing is like we only hear from 4% of dissatisfied. Loved Fallout 3 AFTER Broken Steel. I still loved my li'l hunting rifle right up to the end, though.

I had to work hard at not becoming a walking goddess of destruction in Oblivion, but alas I could have easily killed Mehrunes Dagon on Master level. Then again, Bethesda games are made to be broken. lol. That's why we love them.

Just was checking because of another game and you can probably guess which one that came out about 2.5 wks ago.

I'm currently playing an Altmer Apprentice in Oblivion. I've limited him to three used majors, the rest not. This level cap means that he will max level at 20.... he is a one-shot kill to all magic casters. He does not use a weapon at all. Staff for blocking. Very exhilarating, especially with that whole magic, scary freakshow, one-shot issue.
