Sure you know. You're trying to run the game on a tinker toy instead of a real video card!

* Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 256MB RAM
(NVIDIA 6800 "GS" or better/ ATI X850 or better)
{Added my note here, the X800 Pro & up also, and
avoid the Geforce 6800 SE, and 6800 XT}

You have too little dedicated VRAM, and an antique, very low quality video card dating back almost seven years (it was the X300 the year before, and the 9600 Vanilla the year before that).

There never was any Geforce "GT40" made, sorry.

The only reason to suggest an HD 4670 (getting pretty old now, itself, over three years' worth) would be if your mainboard is so old that you do not have PCI-e for the video bus (and there actually is no such thing as an "FX HD 4670"). If that really was the case (AGP), there is no unused Geforce card available that will play the game correctly. nVIDIA last produced AGP cards in 2006, their Geforce 7n00 generation, but to fill that gap, they kept on selling FXes (eight years old, and 6200s, seven years old).

For a PCI-e mainboard, the correct gaming card is either an HD 6670 or an HD 6770, from among Radeons, and the GTX 550 Ti from among Geforces. The only one of these that doesn't require a 450 watt power supply is the HD 6670.

I have an nvidia 7300 gs pci with 3.2 pentium4 and 1.5 gigs memory
I run it on the low setting but is virtually glitch free. I can run on medium but the frame rate is below my standards of enjoyable play.

This is a testament to the video card is king on this game. Im guessing puting another 2 gigs of memory and switching up to a 512 card ill be styling.

Not YOUR video card. It's the court jester or maybe just a kitchen churl, it's so slow and weak!

If you were talking to me , ya I know my system is old , but I mean (my current system) the video card makes it happen , albiet this game doesnt like the dual core thing , so my single core 3.2 aint bad. And I was just saying atleast adding more 1 gig sticks would help. But doubleing the video card would be the best upgrade. Oh ya ive got 1.75 gigs memory ... 3 slots ... a 1 gig ,512mb and 256mb.
Not a bad system for only $150

I've seen C2D desktops in thrift stores for that price, although the video cards were little better (8400 GSes, for instance, are about the same low performance). This game's practical choice minimum was the mid-level Geforce 6800 or the 7600 GS for an nVIDIA card.
