Goty edition and games for windows live.

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 4:49 pm

I used to play the game perfectly fine, bought it off steam.

Then I installed Warhammer 40k Dawn of War II so I had to instal and make a Games for Windows Live account.

Now the game is asking for my product key and won't let me load saved games.

I DON'T [censored] WANT WINDOWS LIVE FOR THIS GAME!
I played fine without it, so how do I get my game to stop this bull?

Go here: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1086. Follow the install instructions and good luck.

Did you check the box to automatically sign you in to GFML? If so, you should be able to log out and uncheck those boxes. I'm not sure if you'll still be able to play the saved games though as they may be linked somehow to the GFML.

I lost my saved games when I logged into my GFML account and had to start fresh.

I never logged into GFWL on Fallout 3.
And that GFWL remover worked.

Now how do I make my DLC work?

Apparently they never worked from the beginning (I didn't receive the DLC related radio transmissions you get like in New Vegas) I have game if the year edition, if I didn't make that clear enough already

I'm going by bad memory but, after the game loads and you are on the screen that gives you the option to continue, load, new, etc., left click on downloads. This will open another screen that lists all additional files for the game. Left click on the boxes next to the titles than left click on the "BACK" button. I think this is how it goes, I havn't done this in over a year. I have been using FOMM.

Its the Data files button on the launch screen.. But that downloads button might need to hit first with the steam version.

I read somebody else here got their DLC's working with FOMM though.

You will not hear the radio transmissions until you get closer to the source. However, you will see in the upper left of the screen and message that a radio signal has been received related to each DLC.

@Mktavish, thank you that is correct. You do use the Data button. Like I said, I was going by bad memory, since I use FOMM>

So I can also use FOMM to ensure my DLCs are installed?

Yes ... just insure they are in the data folder of Fallout3 where you installed the game.
I was just guessing (since ive never used steam) that you might need to hit that "Downloads" button if you dont find them in your Data folder.

Fomm works pretty much just like the Data files button window does. It will let you activate or deactivate any mods you have in your data folder. The DLC's are considerd mods for all intensive purposes.
