Yesterday I reinstalled the entire game on a new disc and played from the start. At most I can play without crashes for ~40min. That is if not the loading screen loads forever. I don't care so much that alot of the quests even today are bugged and either not possible to finnish or doesn't go away from my questlog. Just allow me to stay in the damn game and I'll be smiling...
Now this is where things get interesting...at this time I decide to also install all the DLC's (game and DLC all steam software). And the game EXPONENTIALLY gets worse. It's like the code was bad to begin with but with the DLC no matter if you play the actual DLC content makes the game far worse. It crashes alot more, I get soundbugs that result in CTD if I get too close to the source of the bug (dead enemy etc etc). The framerate while in VATS drop drastically and sometimes I can't even leave VATS.
But maybe my puter svcks? Well no other game acts this way and it's a i7 rig, gtx460, 8gb ram, win7 64 (have tried with xp also). If you have a qualified guess to what I should be playing on instead im listening.
So, now then. If anyone at Bethesda, be it a dev, marketing guy or the friggin janitor can you please run a quick brief for me why I should buy your next Fallout game (yes yes there will be another one)? Fix Fallout New Vegas or I will be playing your next product....but not paying for it ---> hello bittorrent.
