Where to sell gold bars?

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 5:28 pm

I escaped from Sierra Madre with 4 gold bars. I just want to know is there any other place besides Gun Runners to sell them? I sold one at Gun Runners for 8,000 caps but it takes three days for them to replenish caps. Plus, I want to sell them for 10,000 caps each.

I think you're out of luck, with finding a vendor or merchant that has more caps then Gun Runners. Nothing wrong with getting 8,000 caps for each one.

If you have OWB you can sell them to the SINK central intelligence unit, it has like 14000 caps when it re-stocks, if you don't have OWB I don't know what to tell you.

The SINK in Old World Blues holds 12,000 caps after you pass level 30.

I'd say go there to sell the other three.

I'd suggest trading them in for expensive weapons, armour or lots of ammo. Blake can sometimes have 12 000 caps, but I don't think he restocks. The Sink in OWB is unreliable and has a major glitch that can only be fixed with mods. A good way is to trade them to the hologram vendors in Dead Money for Pre-War Money though that doesn't really help you now. There is no other place in the game that will give you your full moneys worth for them so I advise trading for what you need.

As The Lobotomite said, you have to use barter, you'll trade back and forth until you find the items you need. (I'm lazy at explaining tonight)

You won't get all your caps worth - You're best giving the merchant one and with the caps he can't give you, take his valuable items.

The Gun Runners restock consistently with 8000 caps, which I think makes them the single richest vendor. You can make up the difference by purchasing ammunition, ammo components, crafting supplies, weapons mods or GRA weapons from them.

I used my 3 gold bars to buy me a 16K weapon from the Gun Runners. My barter is around 45 with a magazine to raise it to 65, the gold bars were valued around 7400 approximately. So, I got the 16K weapon plus 6K change, I was happy LOL

Yeah I would trade in the Gold Bars for expensive weapons at the gun runners and hold onto them to sell later.

I'm looking at Bozar, but I'm hesitant to buy it since it has no mods. I wonder if that gun is better than my All American or my modified Automatic Rifle I picked up in the Sierra Madre. I actually bought Gehenna (GRA), Guns are almost maxed, now I want to try some melee/sword action haha.

Good choice. The Bozar is a pretty crappy gun.
