M'basha the Reluctant Nevarine

M'basha does not like Morrowind. But no matter. It was not M'basha's choice to be in Morrowind to begin with. Ash sand is so rough on M'basha's feet, and that is when it does not blow in M'basha's eyes. Ahh, but M'basha sees that you did not come to here to listen to talk of the warm sands of Elsweyr or the rough sands of Morrowind. You want the story of how M'basha saved the Dark elves from their stupid elf ways.

It begins when M'basha was a very young kitten. M'basha does not remember much, but my father, he owed many Septims to a Regada from Anvil. He was quite the Skooma dealer, even among the Khajiit. But the Imperials are wise in the ways of sailors and smugglers, so M'bahsa's father lost a large shipment of skooma to the Skooma Interdiction Agents. For that reason he was unable to pay back the Ragada sailors who helped him smuggle his skooma. The only thing he had left of value was M'basha, so M'basha went with the Regada sailors. At first I worked on the ship. M'basha was very good at cutting the sails, although even with M'basha's help, the ship could not outrun the Imperials and their agents. So M'basha and the sailors were arrested. The soldiers asked M'basha many questions.

Who were the Regada? This was what the guard in the shiney armour asked me.

M'basha tells the man he does not know.

How did you get on the Regada ship?

M'basha tells the man about his father, and about the skooma. How he was sent with the men over some bad skooma deals in Chedinhal and in Solitude. How the men had come to M'basha's tent in Elsweyr very angry until M'basha was sent with them.

The guard left, and M'basha was left in the Imperial Prison. Or that is what M'basha was told. The prison was a big place, so maybe he was just in the city. M'basha asked Azurah for help, to return to Elsweyr or to hear of my brothers. M'basha heard nothing for a long time. Four passings of the moons in fact. Then a very large Dark elf came in, and he said that I must go to Malog Mar. I would work for Zabarbael. M'basha had heard much about Morrowind. Morrowind was the place that scares kittens, and the Dark elves were demons for Khajiit stories. M'basha did not want to go to Zabarbael. But when M'basha said no, the guards came and tried to grab M'basha. M'basha fought, but even M'basha cannot defeat 5 large imperial guards. So M'basha woke up on a ship. Jiub was with M'basha, and Jiub was nice to M'basha. But Jiub was Dark Elf, so he did not share M'basha's fate. Jiub would leave at Seydaneen, and M'basha would go to Zabarbael.

As an Argonian, I share your lack of enthusiasm at the prospect of becoming a hero of the horrible slave mongers the rest of the continent knows as the Dark Elves, but the way I see it, I may eventually be allowed to return home if I continue to play along to the imperials' plans for just a while longer.

M'basha greets you, Sharidan. I see you do not know your Argonian name. M'basha names you friend though.

I see you do not know your Argonian name.
Oh I do, but I had no reason to use it.

Anyway, you may call me by my Cyrodiilic name, Climbs-High-Rocks, or Climbs for short.

I'm liking this, waiting for more.

But where are my manners, and where is my roleplaying mindset?

You dare insult my precious Vvardenfell?! I should stuff you in a sack and sell you to the Comana Tong!

Zarbarbael is not who M'basha thought he was. M'basha thought that Zarbarbael was a farmer. Alas for M'basha, it is not so. He is a slave trader, he deals in Khajiit and Argonians. So it was for M'basha. M'basha is sold like dinner dishes, and Dark Elves are very careful in inspecting their slaves. Too careful, M'basha thinks. But you do not want to hear that part either. M'basha understands, and so M'basha will move on. The man who bought M'basha works for a man named Dren, and this Dren lives far from Mar Molog, in the south of VVardenfal, near the city the elves name holy. The elves say that their gods live in that city, but M'basha knows that the gods do not build cities.

This Dren, he lives well, his house is large, and he doesn not share with his hired help, and certainly not with M'basha. M'basha is told to unload the ships. So many crates, and M'basha and the Argonians must move them to the storage house. M'basha does not know what it is that Dren must ship at three in the morning, but it does not make M'basha happy to move such heavy crates in the middle of the night. The Argonians think that they bring in Netch Leather, maybe to arm soldiers. M'basha does not believe this -- why would a rich Dark Elf need to hide Netch leathers? Maybe it does not matter what M'basha moves in those crates. So M'basha moves the crates for Dren, and other things when the guards ask. It is not wise to disobey the guards.

After M'basha had been at the docks for 6 moon turns, when the mudcrabs hide under the mud, M'basha moved the crates again. It is cold on the docks in Mudcrab-hiding time in VVardenfall, and M'basha's paws get numb in the wet and the cold. This surprises you, perhaps, but it should not, even with the Great Smoking Mountain, Morrowind sits near Skyrim -- even M'basha knows this. But to go on with M'basha's story, the cold crates and colder paws made M'basha drop a crate on the docks. The guards were angry, but M'basha could see what Dren brings in from the docks at night. They bring in much moonsugar. M'basha knows that the Imperials will be angry when they find out about moonsugar in Dren's crates. Perhaps this is M'basha's way out, if M'basha can survive the cruel rage of the guards on the dock. But M'basha is strong, M'basha had to learn to be strong. A Khajiit in Vvardenfall who is not strong may be a rug in short order.

But moonsugar means that if M'basha runs, perhaps the Imperials in the city will not return M'basha to Dren. This is enough for M'basha.

This is quite good. If I have anything to say, it would to be to include more detail.
