Fallout World Map

I'm thinking of making a fan-fic based on the first two Fallouts, and it would help to have a good idea where all the locations are in correlation with eachother. Do you think http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/6/61/Fallout_Map2_copy.jpg map is accurate. I could really use some different opinions on this.

Looks accurate enough, there's plenty of maps on The Vault to confirm/correct locations exact positions.

Curious, are you using the http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1147?

The map looks right, there are many other locations that were not put into the games because they were cancelled. they would have been in the 3rd Fallout made by Black Isle they are locations close to the ones on that map if you are interested in looking into that as well. There are locations in the midwestern United States as well.

Black Isle was making each game more and more eastward it seems.

Well it would be pretty hard to move the game to the west, unless you think an undersea RPG can be fun =p

I actually just stumbled upon the maps. I got the Fallout Trilogy package a few weeks ago, F1, F2, and Fallout Tactics. Haven't tried tactics yet, but I've been loving the first two Fallouts despite how old they are.

It seemed that with each game, they hopped to an entirely new region that was neighboring the previous one. The Van Buren game map would've apparently had NCR's most eastern outposts in the western zones of the map. So really, most of the game would have taken place beyond any organized civilization. A real frontier feeling to it.

Sorry this is some guy who only has played fallout 3 talking here.
I want to say is it seems that those places are far apart, I mean like miles and miles. In fallout 3 all of it's in the small area around D.C and if you count DLCs Pittsburgh and Point lookout. See cause in those games you traveled super far from place to place. Can some one help me out with this to correct me?

Fallout 1 and 2 used an overhead map to travel in between locations, and then depending on your stats certain encounters would occur. Towns and dungeons were the only "real" locations.

Think old-school Final Fantasy and you're sort of close.

I've been to DC twice, I'd say the general locations of suburbs and government buildings are relative to each other, too bad the scale is way too small. Especially since Germantown, PA is like 40 MILES from DC and The Pitt is like 200. As for FO1 and 2, their maps and travel times were almost to scale.

There's one in Junktown. Just be careful as they shut the gates after dark, and no exposed weapons.

Edit: Even thouigh it was great when I was there, I'm sure if you look on Trip Advisor someone somewhere spent the worst night of their half-life there at some point or another.
